    Acer Nitro 50-640-e bios

    Hi everyone,

I have this Acer's gaming desktop with blackscreen after update (seems bios corruption). Pressing power button, fans spin and light it is on....make 1long and 1short beep and no post at the screen.

I tried changing everything (psu, gpu, cpu, ram) with no chance.

I attached a bios backup if someone can help me to fix it if it is corrupted. From Acer website i can download only a "cap" file of the rom but i haven't been able to convert to a bin structure.

    Model: Acer Nitro 50-640-E i7-12700
    SNID: 21000630196
    S/N: DGE2VET0042100189D9600

    Thanks

You are a master!!! It worked!! Sorry for the intrusion but how did you create the file correctly? I tried everything yesterday and this morning with no positive results

What software did you use if it is possible to ask? Thanks for your great support!

          Hi,

My daughters machine has exactly the same problem after doing the BIOS update the 1 long and 1 short beep code, any chance you could share how you did it or produce a similar file for her? The serial number of her machine is DGE2VEK0032130284F9600 and hers is also an N50-640 model number.

I have done a ton of looking around on how to manually flash this machine as I assumed it was going to have to be done through the diagnostic pins with a flasher as it was somehow bricked, but your post is the first I have seen with the same issue and an actual solution that fixed it so I am hoping you can help her.

          Thanks

          James

            The first :

            You MUST:
            • Read BIOS guides, methods, resources and tools
            • Try the method at BIOS guides, methods, resources and tools before requesting help
            • Explain you were not able to succeed with the methods at BIOS guides, methods, resources and tools
            • Use search function in case someone already answered your request
            • Post under a related thread if it exists
            • Provide the full machine model number, serial number (or Service tag, SNID) and the board model number (see https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=88758 ) ,The serial number, make, full model number, motherboard model and revision (except QR codes) must be written/typed at your request as per the rules. Not as a picture, part of the file name and so on.
            • Name your thread with make, full model numbers and request
            • Provide a BIOS/EC dump if possible
            • Attach files directly to your post instead of linking to external websites
            • Post what the problem is, be specific - black screen, no boot, running slow, password. Do NOT post "clean me", "clear bios", "clean bios", "fix bios", "bios need" or other such terms
            Then (Second red line):

Thanks, I will do the above sorry I don't have the machine to hand my daughter messaged me in a panic and she had tried everything diagnostic wise already before realising it was the BIOS update she did that caused it, I jumped the gun and wrote here thinking it was a simple fix with it being exactly the same fault, but reading above it looks like it will be a flash with a programmer job which is what I suspected when she told me what she had done.

I will have the machine with me shortly as it is not at my house so I will be able to get the above done then without issue and will post a new thread if I still require assistance.

              Thanks
