Minisforum G7 PT 7945 direct power on, fast fan spin but no display

    Hi all,

since i already flashed the bios chip without any success there must be something else wrong and i hope you can help me to solve this fault.
When i insert the power connector the PC starts and the CPU fan blasts at full speed. GPU is not doing anything.
I have all voltages present and no shorts.
When i press the power button the CPU reaches 90C in some seconds and the PC turns off / in standby. The PCU starts to make cheeping noise during this process. As mentioned i rewrote the bios chip, checked bios battery, made a reset and cleaned RAM contacts.
Can this fault be caused by a faulty ITE IT8613E? And if so it is possible to replace / program it?

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
    by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

    Assuming...

BMAX B5A Pro fast fan spin + power led but not starting
    by dbuergi
    Hi all,

since i can exclude a bios fault i'm looking for a hardware problem on this one. I got this mini pc with no power and a blown up mosfet with damaged ground bad. I cleaned everything and drilled the area until the short was gone and i was able to rebuild everything.
When i plug in the power supply the power led turns directly on and i get the fan on full speed but nothing else. I can power the board off with the button.
The coils don't show any voltages and other measurements are marked on the picture.
There are no hotspot on the board and with voltage injection...

Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 - no power
    by PantherDave
    Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

    Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74 power issue
    by GLISIT
    Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

Acer Spin 1 SP111-33 Power-On Issue (Troubleshooting Assistance)
    by justice171
I am seeking guidance on an Acer Spin 1 SP111-33 that does not turn on when pressing the power button.

Below are the observations and troubleshooting steps I have taken so far: Observations and Tests:
    1. Verified that all critical voltages are present:
      • 3.3V and 5V are always present if DC is plugged.
      • 1.8V on the BIOS chip is present.
    2. Checked the power button functionality:
      • When pressed, the voltage drops to 0V, indicating the button is functional.
    3. Inspected the flex cable connecting the USB, audio, and power button to JUB1:
      • Confirmed connectivity is intact, ruling out issues
