A simple question about the intricacies of SSD's.

Hello all, I'm working on diagnosing a failing SSD. As a last resort, I ran chkdsk on it, and got an interesting result -

The grand majority of the file record segments are unreadable.

Now, from my knowledge of SSD's, I believe this indicates a problem with the memory controller and not the NAND's. I'm just looking for everyone else's opinions before I start reworking.

simple win network with optimization issue I like to ask some question about configuring simple room win network. So, there is 2 win computer, android4 device and wifi router not connected to internet. The purpose is storage space and manipulation with large files between any device. 1 pc - 192.168.0.2 (winxp sp2) wired to router port#1 2 pc - 192.168.0.5 (win10, enabled smb1.1) wired to router port#2 3 router - 192.168.0.1 with dhcp for wifi (192.168.0.101...) 4 main tablet - 192.168.0.101 (android4) wified to router wifi port I generally work and control transfer with my tablet via ES3 file...

    simple DIY voltage monitor
    by harp
I am designing a simple circuit that can catch a narrow glitch in voltage fluctation, and presented in visual/audio way, with as little as posible common type components. The circuit is done on test board and work like I wish. I post schematics here and like to hear a voice of educated electrician, hopefully to insight of some flaw or better design. Thank you ...

Simple PIR sensor circuit to drive a small motor
    by Nevillet
    Hi All,

I'd like some help designing a simple circuit for driving a small DC motor.
The PIR module is a HC-SR501 which runs on 6V supply and outputs 2.4V when triggered. (Datasheet attached)

I'm not totally sure which motor I need yet but lets assume it'll be 12V and draw a maximum of 100mA.

Can somebody design me a simple circuit for me using something like a 2N3904?

I'm happy to include a relay if that makes sense.

    Many thanks.

    simple 24v fan control problem
    by harp
I am working on automated fan speed for lab psu... the fan is 24v 0.15A, and I am connected it to 820 ohm to ground, that provide minimum silent air flow on startup. It is powered around 4v at minimum point. Parallel to resistor I connected BD139, that drive a 10k NTC. Everything work like expected, but in extended test, where I isolate NTC, I have few issues, and like to ask here for help. 1. If ntc is not connected to heatsink, it go slowly to heat up and up and fan make noise than... At point "A" I measure voltage and put NTC in flame, everything is working ok till about 1.1v, and...
