EVGA E-GeForce AGP, blown Sacon FZs

Greetings from an admitted noobie. This is my first post, and will be my first board fix. I built this PC ~7 years ago. Ive got an evga nforce 6600 AGP card with 5 or 6 blown FZ caps. Computer kept freezing, memory dumped once, and rebooted twice on me. After updating drivers, SP3 and Memtest98+(free), I went to try a spare VGA, and found my blown caps. It blows me away that the card still worked great for the most part. I've already ordered a combination of caps; united chemicon KZE 1000uF @10v, Rubycon MCZ 1500uF @10v, ands Rubycon XLG 100uF @25v. I won't name the supplier, but there was no shipping charge and everyone here probably already knows about them. I've got high hopes that it will run better than it has in a while. Pictures and a fix will soon follow.

If they were from ebay, then be aware that they could be fakes
I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards

I'm fairly sure I know which website he is buying from and if I'm correct, they are real cap thing.

Not eBay. Don't know if its against the rules to plug another site.
I'll have to read the thread on posting pics.

Ahh. I forgot he even existed. Don't worry, it's OK to mention a supplier you got your parts from.

Those rubies are ZLG, not XLG.

They should all work fine, but they may be taller than the originals, so they could stop you using the next PCI slot.

Good catch on the ZLG. I have three empty slots below the agp slot so, so it'll be good.

Recapped this morning before work and Ive just reassembled my PC. No problems as of yet. I know I didn't ask for help, but thanks for all the great information I found on the site here.

The two blue caps on the left are Lelon. Should I have replaced them?

They are polies, so they might be OK. You can replace them to be sure you won't have the card back again, but its optional.

I'm gonna call it good then if they'r polies. Had i known about poly modding, i might have done that. Copying my 4th DVD and been surfing the net with not even a hiccup.

                            by ReparaPC
I have an RTX 2070 Super from evga with a blown up IC. With the IC on the card, pin 17 had a short to ground. This pin is connected to the 5V rail by R993, a 0hm resistor. I removed both U610 and R993, to discover that the 5V rail has 800 Ohms of resistance to ground. After checking some resources online, i found a picture which describes the usual measurements a Turing series GPU should have in order to "work properlly". Interestingly enough, this gpu doesn't have U31, the IC responsible for the creation of the 5V on the card, as well as no L47.

                            Are these 800 ohms rigth...

hi, i start saying i am a noob and maybe i am asking something really stupid

i have a blown mosfet (q521) that burned around him every pins.

I noticed , watching this boardview ( gtx 1060 evga 6gb)that these 4 pins followed a circuit on the left , may i ask you if i can fix everything using some pad strips and attach everything on the small copper line you can see on the photo ?
Also, may i know what does this mosfet do?
                            what is 12v_f/steer ?

P.S. Sorry if i am asking something really stupid but really , i don t even know where...

                            by Knight2000uk
Have an Evga 1660 XC that's got a bad chip blown (ebay seller says onky boots in safe mode), I've had some help pinpointing the chip as EMF20B02V Field effect transistor, its pretty fried:

                            Here's how it looks desoldered:

Looking for some advice on repair, the area where its blown makes it difficult to trace the copper conductive tracks, I'm unsure if it was one large rectangular pad or if the area is mirrored the same as its opposite side with 2 separate contacts, its hard to tell without anything to reference to.
Any help and advice is appreciated,...

So after using capacitor bungs to repair the rubber feet on two laptops, shown here:
                            https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showpo...&postcount=548
                            … and here:
                            https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showpo...&postcount=585
… I was inevitably left with some paper rolls and cans from the Sacon FZ capacitors I “sacrificed”.

The paper rolls from these Sacon FZ caps looked absolutely bone-dry. The idea then occurred to me: what if I put a few drops of water on there? How (if at all) would that affect these already-failed capacitors?...

                            Hi folks,

I'm new to this forum. So my trusty 17-year-old LG 47" LCD recently died. As I was booting it up, I heard a hum followed by a loud bang, sounds of pieces flying around, and loss of power to the unit. Inspecting the PSU, I saw two obvious problems: a blown thermistor (bang + flung pieces) and a visibly bulging main cap. Inspecting as many components as I could with my Fluke MM, I diagnosed that the following components on the "hot side" of the board were also bad: one of the 2 main MOSFETs, main 8A fuse, small cap (25V 47uF) connected to main caps, and a blown...
