ECS G31T-M - First Motherboard repair

Got this motherboard off e-bay for $5.00! So I figured I'd at least get the description from the post up so I don't lose it and upload pictures when it gets here. I'm hoping since it starts to work and then shuts down that it's just a part failing, so we'll see!

ECS G31T-M(1.0) LGA 775 Intel G31 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard Not working parts only. The board looks like it is almost brand new It actually does power up, but after about 1 minute it shuts down. I replaced, cpu, memory, powersupply and still has same symptoms.don't have time to mess with it, but it might be good for warranty.

i just love how easy it is to find people on ebay when they copy auction texts

edit: be prepared to replace a lot of caps.
pretty much all of them are OST or TK/Toshin Kyogo or whatever it was (same thing as OST, just worse..)

If you're bored, problem shoot my LCD monitor I'm trying to fix

Thanks for the heads up, it will be fun! I'll probably need help on what types of caps to replace since you guys have a specific series for these things.

                  Crap.. I don't have 1800uF @ 16V... Guess I'll wait to order them till I know they're blown.

Funny I just had this motherboard about a month ago, except every cap on the thing was a Panasonic. Same symptoms, wouldn't post, but I suspect that it was killed by the Raidmax 500W power supply. The 5vsb was a bit high on it.

Nevermind, it was a different motherboard. Very similar, but AM2+ with ATI chipset.

No. Don't have any spare AM2 processors to test with and I generally do not really mess with ECS boards even with good caps.

Ya, I HATE ECS motherboards. Only reason I'm touching it cause it's broken (surprise surprise) and it's cheap! Good thing to practice on.

I have the lowest available AMD processor in AM2 and 939 expressly for the purpose of testing boards. Well worth what little they cost on eBay.

                                  That's a good idea, I have a socket A, AM2, 939, just don't have a 775 and some DDR2 800 memory... which won't be cheap to get

as for DDR2 test RAM.. DDR2-667 is enough. pretty much all DDR2 boards support it.
the slower ones (533/400) won't work in newer 775 boards, as they need at least DDR2-667 or they just won't POST.

So finally had more time to play with it, got a processor and some ram for the socket 775... So when I turned it on, didn't get it to post (no beep), so I took out the ram to see if I'd get an error that way, but once again, no beeps.... Any thoughts?

Subject is a blank screen issue in HP Envy 17-3290NR 3D version laptop with motherboard Louis V1.1 6050A2489901 MB-A02. Production year is 2012. This one is a 2nd hand motherboard which I could use it for few months only. Suddenly no output from the internal display and also no signal from HDMI port then Windows out of order after few boots.

Caps lock working normally and no HP's caps-lock warning blinks. Making a hard reset and replacing the RAM sticks or using different slots didn't help.

Fans are spinning. Blindly could install windows11 and got the device manager...

Here’s another motherboard that needed a full recap: an ASUS P5GC-MX.
This one was gifted to me some years ago by user Pentium 4, along with a few other goodies. It actually came in working order with no bulging or leaking caps. However, I noted there were United Chemicon KZG caps everywhere on the motherboard. The CPU VRM output (CPU V_core) was the only exception: it had only 2x KZG. The rest was 6x UCC TMV 4V 680 uF caps… which aren’t any good news either.

So here is what the motherboard looked like with its original caps:

                                          CPU VRM area up close…...

Asus VivoBook F510UA-AH51 won't run on battery after motherboard replacement

I'm working on my sister's laptop: Asus VivoBook F510UA-AH51 - The motherboard died so I replaced it.

                                          The original board was:
                                          ASUS X510UNR REV 3.0 A

                                          The replacement board is:
                                          ASUS X510UNR REV 3.0 B (identical except B vs A - I couldn't find an A board anywhere. Visually they are identical.)

It boots right up on the replaced motherboard and everything works fine on the new motherboard - but it won't run off battery. When I disconnect the charger it immediately dies. When I plug it back in and reboot the system - it still shows the battery at...

                                          Hello to everyone.
My W26361-W84-X-02 motherboard starts but don't show image (no logo screen neither bios). Because, I have two of them I desoldered the bios chip from the no working motherboard and I soldered it to the working motherboard and the motherboard works OK, so the bios firmware isn't the problem. Below I took some measurements from the no working motherboard when is power on. Also, I replaced the RAM and didn't work again (maybe some pins from the RAM slot don't have the right voltage?). I replaced and the bios battery, and I made reset on the bios and again the problem didn't...

I am experiencing the following symptoms:

With the device fully assembled when I press the power button, nothing happens at all.

I pulled the power supply from the computer and stuck a paperclip into pins 16 and 17 on the connector causing the power supply to turn on and the fans to start spinning. All of the voltages checked out ok.

With the power supply outside of the case, I plugged it back into the motherboard and tested it again. No change. PC did not turn on.

I put my multimeter in continuity mode and put the black probe on one...
