Hi everyone,

I’ve got a Ubiquiti switch (model US-48-500W, motherboard: USW48P_BCM) on my bench. The switch powers on, but none of the LEDs next to the LAN ports light up.

I’ve measured voltages across the board and suspect a problem with the 12V rail. At the coils where I’d expect 12V, I’m seeing around 6.3V. One coil shows a stable 6.378V, while the other fluctuates between 6.270V and 6.310V.

All other voltages seem fine — 1V, 3.3V, and 5V are present and match the expected values.

I've replaces both buck regulators already (AOZ1212)...

So I got a faulty Gigabyte B450M S2H motherboard off eBay. It was listed as having a potentially faulty CPU socket. When I got the board, I went straight to checking the CPU socket under a microscope with the plastic cover removed to verify if it was actually damaged. None of the pins looked broken or damaged.

So I started troubleshooting the board to see what's actually wrong. The 1st issue I found was there was 0.7V at the power button header. I found the cause was the 6-legged ESD chip that was next to the header. So I removed the chip which brought 5V back to...

Bought an ASUS ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING REV 1.01 off eBay. Seller said fault was board wouldn't POST and was stuck on CPU LED (and occasionally VGA/DRAM). When I tested the board, it actually does POST. However, it complains about a USB Overcurrent issue and shuts down in 15 seconds.

Work has been done on this motherboard already. They removed the audio codec, a chip labelled U31U3 on boardview and some ESD diodes/SOT23's near the USB ports. I have a pretty strange issue I've experienced w/ 2 different A2681 2022 MacBook Air 13" devices now.

The problem occurs after I replace the LCD panel on the screen assembly (panel only repair). After the repair and being assembled, I'll power on the device and you'll see the backlight illuminate, but the image on the LCD panel itself remains black. Once the keyboard backlights light up and the device boots to the macOS login screen, if I close and re-open the lid, then TADA.. The image comes up perfectly and the device continues to function normally...
