    HP ZR2440W displays 'something'

    Backlight seems ok
    12v measures 11.8v
    5v measures 5.17v

place of the "menu" is correct but not showing menu, just garbage "pixels" (ascii "art")
if input is present, video is also same kind of ascii garbage

could use some pointers in what direction to look further

-have not yet de-soldered that ton of caps on the mainboard
-checked the memory bga (broken contacts)

    Re: HP ZR2440W displays 'something'

sooooo ... decided to dig out the shelf-project again
all caps are measured and ok

seeing that it does display the correct placement of the supposed menu and if i get into the menu one can even guess what line it's at
i'd guess the T-con is ok and the problem is on the mainboard

it tries to display both menu and input but only 'garbage' pixel-info exits the board.
can't find a servicemanual and digital is a bit out of my league ..

any pointers as to how and where to look are appreciated (don't have a logic-analyzer or anything fancy but a scope (a few actually) i got)

i expect poor data line connections can do this sort of thing ..garbage in garbage out . some tcons have self test onboard . out of my knowledge really .

forgot to mention, the white(-ish) background is when signal/input is present
no incoming = black background ..

I'll try to read up on digital signal pathway .. if i can find the time (and willingness)
there is a reason that thing was shelved for months

i understand no-one here has a crystall ball (hell, mine is broken too most of the time) ..just looking for pointers (or disproving of my thoughts) if anyone kinda recognizes the symptoms or has more knowledge ..

yes petehall347, something in the lines of datacorruption, since input AND menu are gabled I think (out loud) i should start looking between t-con and that main chip

need to read up howto/what-to measure (what kind of signal .. dmm/scope ?!)

display is LM240WU8-SLA1, got the sheet for that
so at least i know what should go where ..

Unnlock Menu for 2007 DU-27FB32C comerrcial CRT TV
          by Retro140
          Hello,

So I was referred here when I made this poste over on AVForums: https://www.avsforum.com/threads/loc...lg-tv.3257234/

To summarize, this is a commercial TV and I can't get a menu of any kind. I know the overlay is working because when I change channel, adjust volume, turn on sleep timer I do see text. But I have not ever seen the user menu nor the installers menu. I've tried a bunch of remotes(more info on the AVF post) and tried every button...

How to access Vizio m652i-b2 service menu
          by tusiime
The current main board on my Vizio m652i-b2 only has 1 of 4 HDMI ports working. Also, the coaxial port is not working.

So I ordered a replacement board. It boots up the tv, but the display is dark in areas, colors are off, etc. I have seen information online that a setting in the service menu may need to be adjusted. Have tried many ways to access the service menu using remote codes, but none work.

Can someone here provide the confirmed method for accessing the service menu on this tv? Thanks in advance!

ThinkPad P15s Gen 1, NM-C931 REV 1.0 touch screen replaced only works in UEFI menu
          by Yehuda170
original screen was BOE NV156FHM-T07 with On-Cell Touch screen I²C

replaced with what was in my stock, which is IVO R156NWF7 R2 which is also with On-Cell Touch screen I²C

now touch screen works perfectly in UEFI BIOS menu & boot menu. but not working in OS, tried windows & linux too

with original broken screen i can see in device manager touch screen in human interfaces

but with the new screen it's not showing in device manager

is it lenovo blocking it? is it driver missing?

          I²C is a headache

          Vizio service menu code
          by ARGO
There are a lot of different codes on internet but they doesn't work for all modern Vizio TVs.
Here is tested code to enter service menu (factory menu), tested by me on D-series and P-series:
          MENU-1-9-9-9-Return.
(Retun is a button with round arrow on remote)

Overall the menu is useless because it doesn't allow to change panel and LVDS settings...
If anybody knows any other codes for Vizio, post it here, please.

By the way, Philips TVs uses the same main boards with same service menu access code......

          How To Stop CRT Flicker
          by TechGeek
          [PART 1 OF 2]

Ever gotten a CRT monitor and noticed an irritating flicker?

Here's how to get rid of it (or at least make it far less annoying).

          Method 1: Increase Refresh Rate
          1) Get to your display settings. This varies from OS to OS.
For Windows (95 to 2000, XP to 7 with Icons Mode, XP to 7 with Classic Start Menu
          (NOT Classic Start))
          1) Open the Start Menu
(For 95 to 2000 and XP to 7 with Classic Start Menu)
Click "All Programs", then "Accessories", then "Control...
