HP F2105 - Changes to have a green tinge

Well this is a new one for me and searching this site and others hasn't yielded much help so I am hoping to reverse the trend with this thread.

This LCD panel in this monitor is similar to others that I have so I started out by needing to change the CCFL at the top. In doing so, I introduced some dust under the panel that I need to clean out which is why I have the stickies to remind me for later so please ignore that for now.

The monitor has both VGA and DVI inputs and I have experienced the same issue with different cables and different computers so I know that it is somewhere in the monitor.

The issue here is that it turns on fine and looks perfect for some extended period of time...then something changes and the colour is off in some areas. Now it looks to me like there is a green tinge across most of the screen but some areas like fine. My thought is that some level of green is being applied everywhere but the areas that are fine already have some level of green that is higher.

I have attached one picture with normal colour and one with the green for comparison.

That's NO green tinge, that panel or controller on the mainboard lost number of bits, it's looking at a very lossy JPG like someone cranked down 24 bits to 4 bits of colors (256 colors or less).

Tested with another monitor to isolate either monitor or PC itself?

I'm not sure that I understand what you mean.

The monitor resolution is the same but it's like the colour reproduction is off. If I open a white page like a blank Word document or this forum in a browser it kind of looks like the snowy background of a tv but it has a green slant.

The red and green pixels seem to change constantly in a still image or white background as mentioned and give the 'snowy' appearance mentioned. I'm not sure if I can upload a movie but I could capture it that way if it helps explain further.

For a number of reasons, both health and personal, I will no longer be active on this board. Any PMs asking for assistance will be ignored.

I agree. Post a pic of the boards to see what controller the video board have.

Get a jpg picture and a photo editor, turn down number of bits, and you will see what I mean.

I think you have to reseat the flat cable from your logic/main board going into your LCD panel. You might have disturbed that conenction when you were changing the CCFLs.

Sounds logical. Now that I remember I had the same (similar) problem with a Samsung 940T. I removed the flat cable, cleaned the contacts, reinstalled, secured with insulation tape, and problem gone. You should give it a try.

I did check the flat cable and re-seated it with the same results. This is one of those connectors that locks in...I will take a picture tonight.

Thanks for the advice. I really didn't think that the connections were loose but I took everything apart again and did notice that the connector was backing out slightly. I used a little warm hot glue (instead of the white stuff that was no longer there from the manufacturer), re-assembled and it's working so far. I will update if there is any change.

                      ...on to the next project.

                        Hi

Im hoping someone might be able to give me some idea of what may be wrong with my Monitor Audio RSW12 Sub.

Ive owned it since new in around 2002, so would really like to keep it running if I can, it was the first ‘decent' bit of audio equipment I ever purchased and is a little sentimental.

The issue I had was that it would power up with the red light, but sometimes the green light would not come on and I would get no bass from it. If the green light did come on though, I would get sound out of it.

I have already tried replacing all of the...

                        AOC AG493UCX 49-inch monitor - Firmware request
                        by wattage
                        Hello Badcaps Community,

I purchased a preowned AOC monitor that is not working and out of warranty. It was sold as not working. I am looking for guidance on self-repair. In particular, I am after the firmware for the monitor. At the end, I have included monitor model information and links to pics and vids of the issue.

The problem is that it will not display a picture on any of its inputs. And the on-screen menu does not appear. The power button works properly. It powers on with the remote as well. But the on-screen menu does not appear, even when not connected to any...

Hello, Badcaps is my last resort. I am the first owner of the monitor. I reached almost every repair store in my area, but no one even wanted to hear about troubleshooting an old CRT monitor. At this point, I have been trying to figure it out by myself, but I have no idea where to start or look for.

I wish to know how to think and locate a failing component. I will put all my efforts to learn and contribute.

                        Hi Everyone

Lately I am experiencing the deja-vu incident on one of the led monitor like this.
                        https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...lashing-on-off

The monitor is HP 27es LED Monitor

The monitor will randomly blackout and display no signal and will recover again.
Sometimes need to power and off again to restore the display but...
