    No display - means no backlight, but display shows a picture, or backlight is on, when power led is green, and off, when power led is orange.
    The second option might be caused by no voltage on display controller (on LVD cable)

    Replaced the power supply.. Still same issue.. Changed all three fuses with new ones on the power board and still no display. Totally clueless now on what is wrong with it. When you power it on, the light goes to green then changes to orange and nothing.. not even the logo comes up on the screen. Any ideas?

    I am trying to replace the inverterboard pictured above on my Acer AL2423W but can't seem to find the part anywhere. I have tried all of the part numbers listed on the board and nothing.. Would anyone happen to know where i can locate this part? Thanks..
    What is wrong with it? Why not repair the original board?

    I've got one question: When I turn on my computer the monitor starts with "no signal". I am getting signal when i have to fill in my password so i don't see my bios etc. I am using the dvi cable and windows 7 at 1920x1200.

    Thanks very much for the advice everyone who helped me.
    Glad to hear it's working. I suspect the 'no signal' problem is a function of the bios or Windows 7 initially defaulting to VGA output.

    I hope you understand it because my english is not so good.
    Your English is more than adequate.

    I believe you are correct. The area around the 19 Volt rectifier looks very unhealthy. This is also a very interesting design; I have never seen one of these with THREE transformers, and three smps controllers.

    I've marked up the top view of the power board. Check the value of the two resistors circled in red. They appear to be discolored, and could be the cause of the overheating. I have circled 5 capacitors in blue. One or two of those filters the supply for the 19V / 12V SMPS controller. If those are bad it MIGHT cause the problem you are seeing. And it is also possible the 19Volt rectifier (also circled in red) is defective. You could try replacing that.

    Post top and bottom pictures of the power board. If you still have the good one, measure the same points on the connector to the inverter.

    Check that three fuses (I think) - circled in red.

    One of them is blown, probably.

    When its connected to the computer the led stays green.
    Al the fuses are oke.

    The connector to the inverter board:
    Bl = 0V
    Gr=0V
    Ye= 19,8V
    Or=19,8V
    Rd=19,8V
    Br=0,5V
    Bl=3V

    Hello Tonnes
    Also can you tell us what happens when its connected to computer
    There are usually 3 fuses on these p/s boards, the inverter one needs checking out

    Re: ACER AL2423W - no display

    Welcome, Tonnes!

    If power led goes from green to orange - it means that power supply and main board controller are probably OK.

    There are two possibilities.

    1, Bad inverter - connect the monitor to computer and check display with lamp, if you are able to see any image on it.
    If it is OK, disconnect inverter board and check voltages at connector to inverter. Probably 20V branch has some troubles - cold joint. Resolder joints under all chokes

    2, inverter OK, but no signal to panel - you are able to see backlight lite, but no display appears. Then goes down with orange power led.
    Check LVDS connector to panel, if it is not displaced.

    Re: ACER AL2423W - no display

    Hello i am Tonnes and this is my thirst post.
    I've got an al2423w with no backlight. The backlight board is oke. I have changed the capacitors cs 10,11,12,13,14,15 and 16 on the powerboard but no result.
    The power led goes on and after some time to orange (with no computer on it). It's a fsp112-3f01 powerboard and a the mainboard is the same as the picture of Dondrusco.
    Maybe someone can help me.

    I received another Acer - AL2023.
    There were real disaster inside. Both boards have bulged capacitors.
    The power board 9 and main board 8.

    Power board:
    3x470uF/35V
    2x470uF/25V
    2x1000uF/16V
    1x470uF/16V
    1x220uF/25V

    Main board
    7x330uF/16V (I haven't got 330uF- i have used 470uF)
    1x100uF/25V

    I replaced them, and now it works.
