    HannsG HH241 bad HDMI input?

    Hey all..

Really new here but really glad I found this forum!

I searched the forums and didn't find anything that resembled my issue so I was hoping someone may have some incite on this problem.

So I'm had this HannsG HH241 for a few years and it's been pretty solid. Last week I started getting the 2 seconds to black issue. I went ahead and replaced the 5 problem caps on the board. And as part of my initial dis assembly and testing, I screwed up one of the CCFL bulbs. So rather than mess with that I found the same exact LCD assembly on ebay and just got it in the mail. Now after I put the whole thing back together I can connect the PC to the VGA port and everything works great. But when I connect tot he HDMI port, I get "no signal input". Yes, I have manually switched the input to HDMI. I have even tried to allow the monitor to auto switch. For some reason, it just won't accept the HDMI connection even though the VGA works great.

    Guys, anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks!
    -Mike

For me the problem is been already discussed, Every input connector has one memory onthe monitor board that instructs PC of the monitor capabilities (plug&play), if this serial EPROM memory go bad the input type stops working, the solution if i remember is to download a driver (.inf file) for the monitor and grab from here the info (edid data) and with a software from entech (moninfo) charge it newly on the monitor board.

First off, thanks for the reply. The problem is, I don't quite get what you are saying. Is there any guides or anything you can point me to for this process?

      Thanks!

Sorry, it's not simple as i've said, i have verified and in the *.inf files that i have took there's no EDID data :-((((
So you have to contact one person that have the same model and ask him to watch in the configuration, for example in Windows Xp open program regedit, search the key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\DISPLAY", under that there's another one that is for your monitor, copy and save the data on the EDID field and import in the program MONINFO by ENtech soft (http://www.entechtaiwan.com/util/moninfo.shtm), then upload this data to your monitor, beware that the EDID must be the one for HDMI not for VGA port... ATTENTION!... is possible that in your Windows register (if you have) you still hold this data and you can load them to your monitor. If the monitor don't work after this you have to replace the eeprom and retry all the previous procedure. Bye..

Normally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow. But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though. I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...

          Hi all,

Not my usual equipment repair, Projector works great but no HDMI input.
          motherboard: H550MA_R1
HDMI socket was a bit chipped on the side, but no critical damage, i replaced it anyways but still no signal.

Im assuming other damage in the mainboard.
Can anyone give me some pointers on where to begin?...

HP E233 display HDMI no input

          Hi

The display is working great except for the HDMI. VGA, DisplayPort is fine.
i have tried several cables and sources with no luck.

Board number is 715G8912- but i didn't find its schematic anywhere.
The main chip is RTD2526FR which i didn't find its datasheet as well.

Main board looks fine without any blown components or soldering issues.
When an HDMI source is connected the screen goes blank for a few seconds and then it says, "HDMI is inactive" and enters to sleep mode.

          Tested Components:

          Hi everyone,

This TV had the well known power supply issue, took ages to turn on etc until one day it never turned on, I removed and tested all output caps on the PSU with an ESR meter and replaced the ones I've marked in blue on the photo (they are the new ones).

After this it turns on fine but no signal is displayed when selecting VGA or HDMI 1 & 2 but the laptop always correctly sees the tv and brings up the name and resolution...

My new flatmate assured me the hdmi's had previously worked after waiting a long time for the TV to turn on but he...

Not all TVs can handle surround sound on a HDMI input
          by japlytic
With a home theatre PC connected to a TV via HDMI, Windows reveals that the TV only supports stereo sound even though the TV has a HDMI ARC connection to an AV receiver which is powered on; I also had an issue that the AV receiver does not always retain the input setting for routing the HTPC video through to the TV in standby.
So I connected a second HDMI cable to the HTPC and set it to duplicate the video outputs, but I had random audio dropouts when playing content with surround sound being passed to the AV receiver (dropouts did not occur when I replayed the content where it dropped...
