Samsung Syncmaster 940BX built in August 2007
Symptoms:
With a PC connected via either VGA or DVI cable, power on the monitor and you can see the display for a couple of seconds and then it goes dim. Shining a flashlight on the screen show the display is there, but the backlights are off.
Troubleshooting so far:
The caps show no signs of bulging or any leakage, but I have ordered new ones anyway.
Following the recommendations of https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=8292
and referencing the attached picture, I get the following measurement:
A-B = 1.155k ohms
C-D = 1.213k ohms
E-F = open
F-H = short
H-J = short
Since the primaries are different and one of the secondaries looks shorted, is it likely the transformer or maybe something else?
