I'm repairing an Huawei Matebook- MB ref : dah98dmb8b0 rev b , that had liquid damage (milk). I've identified a short on the 3.3V "Always-on" rail.
The culprit is the power IC: SY8286BRAC (Marking ABE).
Measurements:
- Chip removed: Short (0.2 Ohm) confirmed inside the chip.
- Board pads: Resistance rose back to ~15-20 Ohm (CPU/PCH side).
- The inductor (1R5, 0630 size) is also physically broken.
The problem:
I can only find the SY8286A (Marking AWV, 5V version) online. I'm struggling to find a reliable source for...
But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though.
