The Board I have for the power board is ILPI-024 Rev: C datecode 2007.01.15 I have a rather large Su'scon 100uf 450V light blue and black/dark blue capacitor. 99% of the capacitors on the board are Su'scon's. I have read that these capacitors are junk for the most part. I have in particular a 1000uf 25v that is bulged and there are multiple 470uf 25v identical caps(4 to be exact) there are a few smaller caps, but I was particularly shocked with seeing a teapo 220uf 16v(appears to be an SH, as do most of the caps on the power board.) some are SG. I have to get my digital micrometer from my jewelry stuff to give any sort of width and height. I am estimating 7mm for the 47uf 25v's and 4mm for the smallest cap on the board which is a 10uf 16v. I'm going to say the 470uf 16v's are 10mm round and the aforementioned 25v 470uf's are around 14mm round. I'd also like to replace the little caps on the VGA side of the board where the DVI and 15 pin VGA connectors are. 2x 10uf 25v~4mmRound, (all but one cap seems to be 4mm round on this particular board) there are 4 22uf 25v caps 2 100uf 16v caps, and a single 220uf 16v which seems to be of 6-8mm size round. I need to fix this because the monitor belongs to my father and well... It gave out while I had it. I need help figuring out exactly what to replace all these caps with and if top can put together a kit for me for this particular instance? If needed I can take pictures of the board with my Asus Transformer TFT300T Tablet for reference of the PCB's and caps. I would appreciate any and all help possible.

Re: Viewsonic 1935wm
If you meant buy from Top cat badcaps.net you will need to register separately
and send a list of your requirements and ask for a quote - I believe the main stocks he holds are for PC motherboards and may not have all you need you can see before you start. Click o capacitor kits at the bottom of this page and it will take you to the site.
Alternatively you can buy panasonic FR FM and FC (best to good) from digikey
You usually find you cannot get all sizes in the same series.
You also need to understand that replacing caps alone may not fix it ( you dont
actually say how it went wrong)Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

since this is an older 19, there could be bulb issues or inverter issues beyond caps especially if none have obvious bulged tops like these older machines get

I hope these pictures are able to help everybody see and understand what I'm looking at. The biggest cap on the right facing of the board beyond the big heatsink is the swollen capacitor. My Tablet takes awesome pictures as you can see so If I need to I can get in closer to certain things without issues.

Re: Viewsonic 1935wm
Thanks, That's what I figured, I want to fully re-cap the entire board and redo the ones on the VGA controller as well as a precaution. Note the bloody Teapo that I specifically took a closer picture of... If I Can help by getting more pics and closeups of other caps please let me know, My multimeter went by the wayside about 4 years ago, and I'm setting money aside for my convention in September so I really don't have any spare cash to get one currently. The cash for the repair will be coming from my best friend who owes me quite a bit of cash. It's urgent I get it repaired but I can temporarily do without the monitor while DJing, it will be a major issue until I can get it fixed. any objections or opinions about a ghetto mod using some old shelving as a temporary housing and repairing the offending capacitor, followed by the rest of them?

Re: Viewsonic 1935wm
I've repaired quite a few of those Viewsonic's and it was always that one cap. You definitely don't need to replace the caps on the main board ("VGA Controller")
If you don't have a lot of cash, why not replace just that one, and see if that doesn't fix it. The ones I repaired have never come back. It was always just that one cap.
I know there's guys that will tell you to spend a ton of money and time and replace them all. But that's just wasted money and time in my humble opinion.
We sell those used 19" Viewsonic's for $25. So I wouldn't spend a lot of money on the repair personally.Last edited by Lumberjack777; 06-17-2014, 09:40 PM.

I've also done some soldier reflow work on the board where the soldier looked really iffy. I heated it up and looks tons better. what size is that particular cap? I know the V and UF but is my original guestimate correct that it's about 10-14mm in size with an approximate height of about 25mm?

Re: Viewsonic 1935wm
LOL can't print anything, no paper, and I need new ink! 730.00/month isn't much to live off of, even here in the Greater Seattle area. Lumber, I sent you a PM regarding your shop. I have a millimeter gauge I just have to get it from my person in Port orchard that's got all of my Jewlery stuff, Yeah I make earrings and pendants as an additional hobby, so that thing comes in extremely handy.

Re: Viewsonic 1935wm
Yeah... Unfortunately I have used them and my dad likes to use them when he has his computer going as a center set. I sometimes will plug them in so that I can hear the tunes when I'm doing other stuff... thank you bammbammfran for the info on that particular cap. All this help is awesome, I love to bang heads with fellow geeksit's always nice to be able to associate with my own kind and not get flamed or anything. Between you and Lumberjack777 along with selldoor(for their reference to the other article. I am going to start looking for a proper cap that will replace that and more than likely I will order a couple others because there are a couple iffy/suspect caps on the board. BTW the audio controller is also on that same board as the power. If I can link to some of my old projects I will in one of the other sections of the forum.

Re: Viewsonic 1935wm
I know the audio is on the same board, but if not using audio you could have stolen 4 470uf caps from that area and gotten it running same day if you were in a real bind.
I just updated the number of caps since I think the one you have bad is a 2200 x10
I original was figuring a 1000x25 which is why I had written down 2 470sLast edited by bammbammfran; 06-18-2014, 02:35 PM.

Re: Viewsonic 1935wm
As you have mentioned it 4 times above and are about to start a new thread I would just say that it is solder not soldier. I understand the US pronunciation may be soder but still written as solder?
I think it is generally preferred if you post pictures as attachments rather than inline so it doesnt take as long scrolling through the thread.Last edited by selldoor; 06-22-2014, 02:17 AM.Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair
