Dell E248WFPb lots of vertical lines

I have a Dell 24" monitor with vertical lines. Tearing it down, I don't see anything obvious. Can anyone give me some ideas to check?

Try unplugging cleaning and replugging all cables between video board and
    panel.

If you unplug J3 you might get a plain white screen - backlights only.
    Any lines showing?

    EDIT Unplug with power off

What is that little board between the main and the power

Somehow I left a picture of the tcon board off, and I suspect it is the most likely culprit!

It does not look like panel problem, either T-CON or the main board. How are the voltages on the T-CON?

Re: Dell E248WFPb lots of vertical lines

Voltage across the legs of the main capacitor on the power supply is 164v plugged up, but not turned on. With the monitor turned on it is 303 v. I pulled the main cap and checked it and it's uf value was good. I pulled, tested (they were ok) and replaced the 3 small caps on the main board. Started it up and it still has the vertical lines.
Working upstream, I will now pull and test the caps on the 2 small boards that are between the main board and the tcon.

Re: Dell E248WFPb lots of vertical lines

I pulled and checked all the caps on the small board that connects to the main board; all were good. When soldered back in, the same problem persists.
While replacing caps on the main board, I did notice a discoloration around D702 (picture); I don't know if it is significant and I don't know how to check it. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Dell E248WFPb lots of vertical lines

No no no wait... that is not main board, please stop dismounting all the things without a reason, budm, YOU and i suspect the T-con especially and main/scaler board, the little board contains for what i can see 1 or 2 switching dc-dc reg. so if you want to suspect power issue test this board's outputs and report, after test also the T-con testpoints especially GMAVDD2, VGHC1, GAVDD1, GMAVDD1, VGH1, XVCC1, GAV1, GAVCC1, DAVDD1, V33, 5V1, VcomD, after search the web for the keywords -one of previous and the model of the panel- for example "(GAVDD1 OR GMAVDD1) LTM240T1-V2" so you can find places where someone, for example other users, post their voltages, bye!

thread has been a long time dead but I am having the EXACT same issue as the OP. Any pointers? As I have never attempted a monitor fix.

                  Screen Display Vertical Multicolor Lines
                  by Stanley1843
Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

Dell U2518D strobing/flashing with vertical lines
                  by atticus_
                  Hi all,

I dumpster dived a 1440p Dell U2518D screen the other day and figured I'd take a crack at fixing whatever issues it may have. I powered it up to find that even with no signal input the screen flashes rapidly when turned on and has vertical lines across it. I disassembled the monitor and took pictures of the 3 circuit boards inside it along the way.

The three circuit boards are labeled "power board l6256-1m", "LED Driver BD L6257-1". and "Interface Board L6127-1". if anyone has schematics for any of them it would be much appreciated...

                  Hello,

                  i order a t-con because i had bad colors on my SONY KDL-40V3000 :

With the new t-con the color are good but there are vertical lines on all the screen :

I've tried the old t-con and it returned to the initial issue (bad colors but no vertical lines)

Is there a way to fix the vertical lines on the new t-con ?

                  Thank you for your help

Thanks for offering your assistance with this. I'm an electronics enthusiast with moderate level of competence (have a decent lab with two power supplies, microscope, DSO, hot air, good iron, can competently work at a component level on SMDs, design and solder own PCBs etc). I really enjoying fixing things and learning new stuff so took up a free 58" LED TV and have been googling and watching Youtube videos to see if I can fix this! I am happy to go down to individual component replacement/strip replacement etc - it's all in the name of learning.

The issues are as follows: the...

                  by viking509
I recently replaced the led backlights with LB65041 LED Backlight Strips and after putting it back together the backlights work but there are only colored vertical lines only in the center of the tv. I can see the Netflix logo (jumbled) after a minute or less the screen went dark. When I turned it on again the lines were back. Then I replaced the t-con board but the same vertical lines in the picture. My question is what is my next step? Could it be a source tab bond issue? A buffer board issue? Could I have loosened a connection to the panel when replacing the backlights? Should I replace the...
