    Dell 2408wfpb - horizontal lines.

    Hello everybody.
It is my first post on here. I have been in to electronics before however it has been put away for some time. I found great display recently but unfortunately it suffers from number of lines across the screen. No matter if anything is connected to it or not. Everything seems to be displayed correctly but the lines persist.
My question is where to start and what are my chances.
    Pictures are there https://plus.google.com/photos/11024...Njqk_DrkrSHkwE
    Thanks

That model is famous for having a bad t-con board. It could be the main board, or the t-con board. Here's 2 pictures of 2 Dell 2408's with a bad t-con board. You can compare. You'll need to disassemble the monitor and upload some pics of the main board and the t-con board. Use "go advanced" then "manage attachments" to load the pics.

Thanks for quick reply. I will try to open it during the weekend and take some photos. Is it difficult to get into it, will I need anything like manual?
      Here is actual screen photo:

Re: Dell 2408wfpb - horizontal lines. Photos added.

I am attaching pictures of all boards apart from one which i believe is t-con board. I did not take a photo of t-con as i don't want to disconnect the panel ribbon, thought it might make it worse. I could not find anything obvious, tried to push all sensitive spots like wired connections and such a things, nothing has changed.

Re: Dell 2408wfpb - horizontal lines.

Great pictures and the video helped out a lot.

In your case it appears to be the main board. Picture #2. Because you are not even getting a solid picture to begin with. These boards are very extensive due to the sharpness of the resolution, and the number of inputs. There's not a whole lot of parts you can replace yourself. Three things you can check on that board.
          1. If you don't have an ESR tester you can visually examine the capacitors. Sometimes the little ones don't dome on top; they explode on the bottom.
          2. Look for any fuses to check.
3.There are 2 voltage regulators on the top middle, and left. You need to check those.

Unless anybody can think of anything else to check.

I can't find anything still, service manual could help but I ain't have it.
Just to correct what you have said in last post everything is displayed correctly just lines are always on the top of picture.
Any idea where can I get main board for it?

Dell U3419W horizontal lines and flickering
              by Guybrush
After watching too many electronics repair videos (but not monitors) I came across a dell monitor with flickering horizontal lines. I haven't purchased it yet so don't have much info, but from the video and pic do you think there is a chance of repair or is just simple panel damage?

Seller claims; "but due to sun damage has some grey lines going through it"

Samsung QN70Q6DTA Ghost or horizontal lines after tape fix horizontal line
              by Ihandyrepair
              Hi guys

I just started fixing 4k TV few months ago. so I am still learning a lot
I got this tv from friend complaint is ghosting or horizontal lines on image.

never saw the original symptom but I took the tv back home. the funny part is that after bringing to home, the tv worked fine no issue for 3 weeks.
then it started to show the ghosting white image.
I started using the tape method, but this tv does not have a T con board and it has only 1 ribbon cable from main board to the tv panel.
it has 3 thin small boards at the bottom of the...

DELL P2717H 27 inch white horizontal lines on screen
              by reaper422
              Hello,
I have a problem with the Dell monitor whit LCD Panel MV270FHM-N20
that starts with a normal picture but after three or four seconds of work, it starts to draw horizontal lines progressing from the bottom to the top.
The power supply generates stable voltages.
The power supply of the matrix is 5 volts, which is also stable.
I don't think normal sounds can be heard from the LVDS board.
After measurements are made on the test points on LVDS, the measurements are
              VGH 23.7v
              AVDDS 11.7v
              AVDD 11.7v

Sony XBR-65X750D Horizontal lines bottom of screen
              by ggil44
Hi, I have a Sony XBR-65X750D that has horizontal lines at the bottom 6 inches of the screen. These lines appear to be every other line because the picture is still quite visible behind those lines. The lines appear all the time with a few other lines above and below the 6 inch level blinking on and off at about 2 second intervals. I'm not sure if this is a panel issue or power supply/main board problem. I did replace the T-Con board without any change in the problem. Any suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Sony XBR-85X950G Gray horizontal lines and vertical picture shift diagnosis?
              by noisykid
5.5 year old 85 inch Sony Bravia X950G started showing gray horizontal lines across the bottom of the screen and the picture shifts slightly vertically when it happens. The lines sometimes get bigger/smaller vertically and bounce back. See the video for the problem. It seems to be happening after it warms up after an hour or so. Happens regardless of source. Right now there's nothing but power cable connected and it's happening. We did hook up a new Nintendo Switch to our HDMI switching receiver today, and played for a while with no issues, but this problem didn't occur til a few hours later while...
