    Asus vw222s

    Greetings,
thank you for the info and knowledge sharing with the community.
I have the Asus vw222s monitor:
    http://www.asus.com/Display/LCD_Moni...specifications

which seems to have the bad capacitors or/and inverter transformers problem.

The unit fires up (slowly) and the pilot led stays blue. After a while, thin, vertical, multicolored lines appear while the background seems to ''boil'' in gray. This is what I get:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yVTh7...&feature=g-upl

The power board (4H.09C02.A01 power board, also used in BenQ T201WA, see also: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=17609),
has two (brownish - heat stroked?) inverter transformers and a slightly bulged capacitor. The down side of the board appears similarly heat affected in the areas of the inverter transformers. (Or is brownish, just because it was used in a ultra heavy smokers environment? )

Can you please advise, if the LCD panel / LCD panel logic board, (AU Optronics Model M220SP01 http://lcd-screen.com.ua/data/pdf/AU...SP01%20V.0.pdf
and the CCFL backlight are intact? (OK, on the probability of being intact )
As I found out, inverter transformers is a hard to find parts, are any parts with similar characteristics available?

Thank you in advance, any respond/help will be greatly appreciated.

First thing to try might be to clean and reseat any removable connectors
inc the one from the logic board to the panel ( care- not always removable)

Have you tried another screen with the pc and the same vga or dvi cable.
Just to rule out faulty cable and graphics card.

Elite caps are not good - which one do you see as bad? chances are if one has gone they will all need replacing except possibly the big one.

      Thanks for your reply.
I've tried different combinations of PCs, VGA cables, screen resolutions.
(In this monitor, the only available input is the Dsub connector - no DVI).
No change, the result was as, in my first post video.
No removable/lose connectors were found, in the contrary all plugs were too tight fasten/stuck (due to thermal load?).

Is the vertical lines symptom, typical to capacitors failure?

There should be flat ribbon cable or multi cable between the main/logic board and the LCD panel. Your problem can be the T-CON board which is part of the LCD panel assembly. Pictures of the LCD panle and the main/logic board?

It might be the T-CON board. I'll post some pics asap. T.Y.

This is the panel's logic board. The left input (closer to the center), receives power from the PSU board and the right one, VGA signal from the computer. Above the card, the ribbon cable to the panel.

Ok it is the cable to the right hand socket that we were querying- make sure that it is seated correctly at both ends - check for bent /broken pins.

If that is ok then check out the panel board ( tcon) for fuses - pic is not clear enough for me to see any- if you cant find any post a close up of the
board - do it in two halves.

There are also a number of voltage regulators on that board perhaps check them and post results.
