    Sceptre Naga 20.1' monitor

    Monitor Link
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824112006

When waking up in the morning I usually have to find something to do for 30-1hour before the monitor turns on. It started happening about a 3-4 weeks ago. The power light for the monitor will constantly flicker on and off but without showing anyscreens. I have taken it apart to find 3 of the 6 Samxon 470uf 25v capacitors were bulged, and the little Samxon 150uf 25v was bulged aslo. Near the 150uf 25v is two brown spots as if there has been some burning or something. When the monitor does decide to turn on it works perfectly with no hiccups.

Since I'm no pro, would I be able to find these capacitors @ my local Frys Electronics or would I have to order them off badcaps/ other retailer? How easy would It be for me to replace these myself without having much experience at all?
ps: I've looked for the 150uf 25v on badcaps and it seems to be non-existant

    Amateur pictures.

Frys will probably not work, they probably sell general purpose capacitors, which are often not good enough.

    Since you're in US, I recommend digikey.com

    150uF 35v : http://search.digikey.com/us/en/prod...2408-ND/613769 (yours is rated for 25v, 35v works as well)

Can't tell the series from the pictures, but it's not like you have much choice and the one above is a good brand with good specs for the series.

    CapXon GF series 470uF 25v is 10x16 mm , 1415mA ripple, 42mOhm impedance

Any of these should work great but pay attention to the height, some of these are 20mm tall - it looks like you have the room as the transformer seems taller in the pictures.

    http://search.digikey.com/us/en/prod...2415-ND/613776
    http://search.digikey.com/us/en/prod...1694-ND/756210
    http://search.digikey.com/us/en/prod...2388-ND/613749
    http://search.digikey.com/us/en/prod...441-ND/2433575

ps.. replace all six 470uF at the same time, there's also a capacitor near the big black KM series capacitor that seems to be smaller than those 470uF capacitors... look around the transformer for a smaller capacitor that's probably around 22uF-47uF and might be worth replacing as well.

ps2. wouldn't hurt to post some pictures with the back of the board and one picture straight from above the board without flash just in case there's something else with that monitor going on... use the manage attachments function (in advanced mode edit, click go advanced below)

Frys is unlikely to carry/sell low ESR capacitors which are required in a SMPS application.

You can buy them at badcaps.net, digikey.com, or some other equivalent online distributor.

can't add as attachments because I don't want to re-size for quality purposes.
For many reasons including imageshack's annoying redirection to partypoker.com, I will NOT look at offsite images. Other people have loaded excellent focused pictures with resolution less than 2000x2000.

Will post more pictures and try to resize them,

@Mariushm the back capacitor near the black one is a 47uf 25v

Will take pictures with back of the board.

          updated couple more pictures.

Should I replace the 47uf 25v capacitor in the back as well?

Members here suggest replacing ALL the electrolytic capacitors except the largest one which rarely, but not never, fails.

The 47uF 25V plays an important part in the SMPS startup process so definitely replace it.

Samxon GF (your green caps) are a problematic series. They die after 2 or 3 years due to heat. I have replaced a few of them in lcd monitors.

Normally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow. But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though. I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...

              Hi Everyone

Lately I am experiencing the deja-vu incident on one of the led monitor like this.

The monitor is HP 27es LED Monitor

The monitor will randomly blackout and display no signal and will recover again.
Sometimes need to power and off again to restore the display but...

LG 23MP55HQ LED Monitor turns off after a few seconds or flickers.
              by Rick_1234
              Good evening, gentlemen.

I have a problem with my monitor. It turns off after a few seconds or flickers. Shining a flashlight on the screen doesn't show any image, so I guess it's not the "2 seconds to dark" I read in the forum.

To turn it back on, I have to press the power button twice. Then after a few seconds it turns off again or flickers. See video.

Wise Wing F199 19'' LCD monitor - recapped
              by momaka
Looking through my repair pictures and notes, it's been a long time since I posted anything in the LCD monitors section. So here goes that.

I'm dedicating this thread to one of the very first LCD monitors I repaired (if not the first one), which was more than 10 years ago now. The monitor is a Wise Wing, model F199. It's a 19” CFL-backlit LCD. I got it for free off of Craigslist in 2009 from a guy, who said he bought it for cheap from Wallmart and the monitor worked only for a little less than 2 years before quitting.

When I saw the Craigslist post, I wasn't...
