    Dell 2408WFP Vertical Lines

The problem is a grouping of vertical lines about two inches from the right side of my monitor. They go away after 15-20 minutes of warming up. At first they were only 1-2 pixels in width and were magenta colored, but now its probably 6-7 pixels in width and are black.

Google search pulls up a few people who have the same issue as me, but no resolution. Im not optimistic, but any info would be appreciated!

Sounds like a bad connection from the column drivers to the panel ITO for those few pixels. Not easily fixable but since it's temperature-sensitive (expansion) applying pressure might help.

may be Column drive flex cable has bad connection with panel glass (this is stick with glass & conductive lines)

Check that area flex cable with pressed with finger as soon as cold start display (have to dissasemble panel from base)

it problem gone.., try to glue that area might help

I tried applying some pressure to the lines and a few actually disappeared, but the black ones remained. Not sure I have the expertise to take it apart and glue anything.

Now I have a friends screen with same symptoms here for repair: vertical lines and ghosting images. So far many people run into this issue as you can see form various posts throughout the web. Only suggestion was to get it replaced under warranty. Has anybody here fixed this issue? I think if it's really the connection between the flex cable and the substrate there isn't a permanent way to fix this - unfortunately.

As I remember, 2408WFP use SAMSUNG LTM240CS05 LCD-panel. If discussed defects are look very much like following photo:

              http://www.picshare.ru/view/727582/
(this is a photo of one of previous 24" SAMSUNG panels defect)
it's frequent SAMSUNG LCD-panels defect - fault of T-CON (timing controller) PCB, which is a part of LCD-panel. The T-CON PCB of DELL 2408WFPB is marked as LTM240CS05FFCC4LV0.4 and can be found in free market. I had restored one of same PCBs replaced memory chip.

                Screen Display Vertical Multicolor Lines
                by Stanley1843
Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

Colorful LCD Vertical Lines on Samsung ue55es8090
                by Falki
Hello there, ive recently found an older 55inch Samsung SmartTV.
Sadly it has vertical lines at the left and one line in the middle-right.

I have already tested out the connections and have looked at the soldered ribbons of the LCD panel to see if some contacts got loose by pushing them a bit but with no success.
I have factory resetted the TV as well but also with no luck.

I am afraid that it is indeed a LCD Panel issue but there are NO scratches or any impact-marks..

A similar issue has been posted as well but also with no actual response ...

                Help. Sony kd-65x85dj vertical lines
                by visionbluedemon
First. it has no picture at all. i solved it by covering the ckv lines using tape to to block the connections

Second. now has picture but with vertical lines that follow the image. tcon board ic overheating

tried blocking LC lines too, but same results

is it lcd panel issue or tcon board issue?...

Dell U2518D strobing/flashing with vertical lines
                by atticus_
                Hi all,

I dumpster dived a 1440p Dell U2518D screen the other day and figured I'd take a crack at fixing whatever issues it may have. I powered it up to find that even with no signal input the screen flashes rapidly when turned on and has vertical lines across it. I disassembled the monitor and took pictures of the 3 circuit boards inside it along the way.

The three circuit boards are labeled "power board l6256-1m", "LED Driver BD L6257-1". and "Interface Board L6127-1". if anyone has schematics for any of them it would be much appreciated...

                Sony KDL-40V3000 - Vertical lines
                by gpo23
                Hello,

                i order a t-con because i had bad colors on my SONY KDL-40V3000 :

With the new t-con the color are good but there are vertical lines on all the screen :

I've tried the old t-con and it returned to the initial issue (bad colors but no vertical lines)

Is there a way to fix the vertical lines on the new t-con ?

                Thank you for your help
