LG L246W-BN LCD Monitor Repair - Success
Monitor would not power up or show any status lights. Upon inspection I noticed
you can hear an arcing sound when power up was attempted. I dismantled
the monitor and upon inspection of the power supply I noticed (2)
10V/3300uF leaking capacitors. I removed the bad capacitors and replaced
them with 25V/3300uF capacitors. I then successfully tested the monitors
power and the VGA input port. Sorry I did not document the location of the bad caps but they were very obvious.

But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though.
