Changed the controller board on this monitor, and all I'm getting is flashing full screen red green blue white!

uhm.. put a signal to it and see what it does.
older monitors used to show those color patterns if there was no signal (instead of showing a "no signal" box floating around on the screen)Comment

Ok, I'm happy as a pig in **** that the monitor is up and running, but at the end of the day, is it normal for the monitor to go into what I can only describe as "test mode" both when on w/o signal and when it should in fact be sleeping?
My guess is that this is a firmware issue. Could anyone tell me how to flash this (Acer AL1716) monitor? Sorry in advance if there's already a sticky on this topic.

For the sake of closure, this problem (miracolously) rectified itself. Left the monitor unplugged for several days, when I hooked it up again, no more red/green/blue, and monitor goes to standby (amber lED) as intended.Heaven, is a place where all IC's are DIP.Comment
