    Re: Samsung 2493HM issue

I just stripped a capacitor off of another motherboard. I did make sure that it had equal capacitance and it actually was a larger voltage. Im not sure of the brand. I hooked the monitor up to my computer and held a flashlight up to it to no avail. I did not see anything on the screen.

The rattling may be a rotation sensor.

    1) Replacing the one obviously bloated cap may not be enough. Capacitors die from age, heat, and shoddy build quality. Capacitors DO NOT have to be visibly bloated in order to bad. They can be out of tolerance uF (a 1000uF measures 20uF) and/or have high ESR (ohm). A multimeter will be insufficient to test for ESR. For that you need an ESR tester which costs between $50 and $300.

    2) What brand and series did you use for a replacement cap?

    3) If you hookup a computer displaying your favourite wallpaper, can you see it by shining a flashlight on the lcd?

    4) If you have no display, check your voltage regulators on the logic card.

    Samsung 2493HM issue

I recently got my hands on a model 2493HM. At first the power led would just blink blue and never show anything on the display. After opening the unit, i found a bad cap on the power board. I replaced it, but when i was reassembling the monitor i noticed a rattling sound coming from the logic board. It sounds like a small piece of metal is caught somewhere and is rolling around. I would normally not pay this any mind, but now i get a solid blue led and no display. Any suggestions?

Samsung SyncMaster 740n Phase Control Issue
    by vincentedel
    Hello,
I'm having an issue with the Samsung 740n's phase control setting. When I use the automatic adjustment, it sets the value to around 54 (with a range of 0-100), and the picture looks clear and sharp. However, after some time—like after playing a game—the text starts to look blurry. When I auto-adjust again, it may increase the value to 80, and everything becomes sharp once more. Yet, after a while, whether it's a few hours or a day later, the same blurriness returns, and I have to adjust it again.

I'm using the Samsung 740n monitor drivers instead of the default plug-and-play...

    QE65Q800TATXXC Samsung TV Issue
    by Manucsl
    Hello.

My TV is a QE65Q800TATXXC Samsung TV.

Issue : When you plug the 220V, voltages are OK on the power board and you can hear the click from the relay, but TV is not starting when power button is pressed. Red led is blinking when you press power button. But no images or sound ( Back-light is off )
Then if you disconnect the cable from the main board to the power supply, the TV back-light turns on.
Any ideas to check would be very appreciated 😊

After reading some posts on this forum, I suspect an eeprom issue so I bought a CH341A to dump...

    Display issue Samsung TV UA65JS9000W
    by FourRunner
I purchased a used Samsung TV model UA65JS9000W recently knowing it had an issue with the screen. When switched on the picture was bright both sides of the screen but a little darker in the middle of the screen. Thinking this was the back lights (side mounted LCD strips) I replaced these, however the issue is still there. I am now thinking it may be a TCOM issue, but am not sure, any advice on this would be appreciated. Also whilst changing out the back lights I noticed the the thick clear plastic sheet (maybe 1.5 to 2mm thick) below the diffusers there is cracking (up to 75mm) on the sides and...

Samsung UE48JU7000 screen issue after backlight replacement
    by ScHAmPi
    Hi all,

Because of two bright spots and a couple of dark spots I decided to replace the backlights in my Samsung UE48JU7000. See attached photos:

I thought all went well, but after full assembly and testing it out it turns out not all is fine. The backlights are completely fine but I have some weird issues on the right half of the screen. Since I didn't really touch the T-CON board (apart from taking out the ribbons of the display and reconnecting them on assembly) it would be weird that the issue is with the T-CON board... But based on the behavior of the service...
