    Acer v193w

    Good day to all forum,
I would need the service manual of this monitor ACER V193W.
The problem with this monitor is as follows:
lights for a few seconds, you see the logo and just after the lights go out.
Can someone tell me how do I remove the back cover (I do not think there are screws).
    Thanks!

My Acer v193w has a different problem

Just got one myself. It displayed typical behavior in terms of power. I got the "Cable Not Connected" message and the "No Signal" messages when I turned it on and plugged in the video cable. I was not able to get a video image, so I focused on the video board.

All are Su'scon caps. Three of them at 10 uF and 25V tested around 9 uF and 4.1 - 4.5 Ohms on my ESR Micro 3.1 and all capacitors were tested in-circuit.

The capacitor opposite the VGA port and the one near the center feature 150 uF and 10V and tested around 93 uF and 0.30 - 0.45 Ohms.

I'm worried about the one on the opposite corner from the VGA port. It features 100 uF and either 10 or 16 Volts. When I apply my ESR Micro 3.1 needle probes, the meter freezes (it was set to cycle between displaying capacitance and displaying ESR). I have to remove at least one probe to get my meter to cycle again. While I get ESR around 0 Ohms, capacitance is anywhere from 1000 Ohms to (X times 10^4) Ohms.

I'm planning to start with this wacky capacitor, but I'm also wondering if I should work on the other five.

I can't figure out the best way to remove the power board, either.

            Hello,
after a long time I resumed work this monitor.
The problema is solved by changing one of the four lamps that I found dead.
Thanks to everyone for the help.

I have exactly the same situation, can you elaborate which four lamps you replace. Thanks in advance.

One of the four CCFL lamps, there are 2 for the top, 2 for the bottom.
It can be burnt out wires, worn out lamp (blackened ends).

You can make 2 test lamps to find out if you have inverter problem or bad lamp.

Normally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow. But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though. I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...

How to force Acer Aspire Series to bootup BIOS/UEFI on external Monitor?
                    by maralexbar
I ask this question in general as there are many Acer Aspire models with UEFI Insyde BIOS that do not boot to the BIOS on an external monitor (VGA, HDMI, etc) showing only the Internal LCD (LVDS, eDP etc).
It's a pain to work on Acer notebooks with a broken screen and not being able to access the BIOS using an external monitor.

If anyone knows how to force the external monitor as primary for Notebooks of those models
