PMA980R Denon amp, subsonic filter function advice.

    Hi all

Subsonic filter doesn't seem to have any effect, whether on or off.

    Can anyone help?

    Manual might shed some light.

what filter is this? 20-30-40 hz?under 40hz you don't listen nothing.only in heavy bass track and volume up you can see the bass woofer lose some movement when you careffuly looking.subsonic filter is allways good thing speakers and amps work more acurate and relaxing.other way if the amp + sub is designed for very low frequencies or you heard music in low comfortable level you left the filter in the off position.

Discovered a very useful low frequency test on You Tube, from around 4HZ TO 20HZ.

Subsonic filter definitely makes a difference, taking the edge off the bass response, but to be honest with most music you wouldn't even notice it.

Vinyl can warp and this can cause woofer pumping where the warps cause undesirable sub 20Hz frequencies.

                    Help with boom box modification
                    by Califauna
Hi, this is more of a project help request than a troubleshooting question. I hope I can post it here.

I have a W-King D8 Bluetooth boom box which I'd like to modify with some external speaker output jacks and some buttons to switch the internal speakers on and off.

From factory the specs of the boom box are:

                    -Power Input: DC 5V
-Speaker Output Power: 2 x 25W ( confirmed by Youtube channel Hartdegen review as 12.5W RMS per channel)
                    -Drivers:
                    -2 x Woofer, 70mm, 10Ω, 70mm,15W
                    -2 X Tweeter, 8Ω, 30mm,10W x 2
                    -Frequency...

Amplifier - bad sound when loud sound on bass
                    by eduaqa
I'n trying to fix a M&S SYSTEM DMC-1which have following problem:
I'm using FM station to do this fix, I works perfect if volume below around 8 or if bass is set to zero, the sound can go to 20 without problem, but if I set bass to maximum and try to go over 10 the sound comes distorted ... I saw a video on YouTube the person saying about the main capacitors on the power portion, but I disconnect the main transformer and inject direct to the capacitors PINs my bench power supply -23v 0v +23v, but still distorted so I think the problem is not the capacitor neither the transformer...

Help identifying the function of these two coils - MSI Delta 15 (MS-15CK1)
                    by Salvador Pérez
Hello everyone, I'm troubleshooting an MSI Delta 15 (MS-15CK1) motherboard, and I need help identifying the function of the two coils marked in the attached image. The laptop powers on and responds to the keyboard, but the screen does not turn on-neither the LCD nor the backlight. I've checked the main power rails, and all other coils seem to have the expected voltages:

                    • 0.91V for the GPU
                    • 1.7V for VRAM
                    • 3.3V and 5V rails 1.8V for the BIOS
                    • 0.9V for the CPU and iGPU 1.2V for the RAM

However, these two coils are not showing any voltage....

Input Filter Filling: How to Choose Components?
                    by cheese007
Recently acquired one of those silly Logisys acrylic power supplies and lucked into getting one of the "better" ones (most of an input filter, bridge rectifier instead of 4 diode treatment, OK-sized heatsinks, etc.) and wanted to fill out what I can on the board + get some decent caps on there (especially the primary side since I highly doubt the ones in there are actually 1000uf). My questions are:

                    1. How do I know what components to install re: the input filter? It seem to be missing an X cap, a resistor, and a Y cap.
                    2. Where can I find a good heatsink for the bridge...
