Does anyone out there have a schematic for a phoenix gold sd1300.5? I have searched the internet for one with no luck at all. I have one that turns on for about 3 seconds then shuts down. I'm assuming its going into a protection mode. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Phoenix Gold sd1300.5
Well, there are schematics for some other Phoenix Gold models and I guess they all are pretty similar inside.
Even without a service manual you should be able to troubleshoot the most common amp issues ( like blown channels, power issues, etc. ). -
Re: Phoenix Gold sd1300.5
I have checked the outputs and everything checks out. I'm having issues with the preamp section of the amp. I've replaced all the opamps already. The +15 and -15 is present for about 3 seconds then shuts down. The + and - voltage comes from two voltage regulators. I removed the regulators and hooked up my variable power supply to the place where the output pins go. No shorts. So I guess I have issues with the ic mounted on the bottom of the board. Schematic would really help.Comment

Re: Phoenix Gold sd1300.5
The ICs on the bottom are class D amps ( https://cdn.badcaps-static.com/pdfs/...62d01324be.pdf ). Looks like that amps have internal protection which also provides some feedback ( DIAG pin ) to the rest of the circuit.
Other thing that might trigger the protection is the themo-sensor ( most likely RH2 ).
What are the ICs which you have removed?
Also, can you make photos with visible labels of the lower row of ICs Q22-Q12?Comment

Re: Phoenix Gold sd1300.5
I do not know for what exactly are that 7x15, but I'm pretty sure they do not power the amps. I'll expect to see ~30V ( + and - ) coming to them.
Can you trace the signal path from RH2? .. it should go to the IC in control of the protection logic and then check what exactly triggers it.Comment

Re: Phoenix Gold sd1300.5
No, you do not need audio signal to run the amp. What you need is +12 supply, ground and +12 to tell the amp when to power up ( just connect it to the +12 supply ).
C4558 is a double op-amp and in other auto-amps I've seen them used for "combining" all protection signals and then just send one hi/low signal to the main IC ( most likely IC4A in your board, by the way what is written on it? ).
78(9)15 are rated at 1 amp output current, so I really find it hard to believe that they are used to supply the amp chips. Most likely they are powered from the same V rail that is used by the amps and the +/-15V are used for the other ICs and op-amps.Last edited by madan1; 03-23-2018, 03:17 PM.Comment

Re: Phoenix Gold sd1300.5
These are the voltage measurements of the ic4a. Pin 1 and 16 error amp??
pin 1 0
pin 2 5v
pin 3 4.8v
pin 4 .26v
pin 5 1.57v and also this had a sawtooth waveform on scope
pin 6 3.4v
pin 7 0
pin 8 11.7v
pin 9 .82v
pin10 .92v
pin11 11.9v
pin12 11.6v
pin13 4.99v
pin14 4.99v
pin15 4.99v
pin16 12.41vComment

Should I replace ic4a? Am I supposed to be seeing some form of a square wave from the ic?Comment

Re: Phoenix Gold sd1300.5
I think IC4a TL494 is zero duty cycle (if pin 3 end up over ~4V).
This looks like because pin 16 is up. It needs to be less than pin15: less than 5V for the PWM to run. The other voltages look OK.
I would trace out pin 16 and see where it goes, why it is up telling the IC to shut off.Comment

Re: Phoenix Gold sd1300.5
By the way, solder back the two 7x15 regulators and measure their input and output voltages.
On the class D amp chips from the bottom side of the board measure the following pins for dcV. Do all measures before the unit gets in protection mode.

by chaos-theoryI have a really weird problem, this motherboard was working normally, someday it just started and all fans were running but didn't want to post, tried resetting bios, checking CPU and it was getting warm tried external gpu, flashed bios with programmer, but same problem.
Next day after several attempts the board goes into protection mode, no more staying on, I turn on the PSU fans starts directly turning, it used to not start until I press the pwr button, now it starts directly and fans spins, and shuts off after 3 seconds sometimes less, then won't start again unless I unplug the PSU and... -

I am wondering if you guys can help me out. I have an issue with my Sony LED TV. I've been told this is a good place to ask. Thanks for anyone who will reply and offer advice. Appreciated!
I have a KD-65X9005A Sony 4k LED TV. For a few weeks I've got this problem where I turn on the TV and within a few seconds the TV starts getting darker until it shuts itself off and I get the 4 blinking error code. HOWEVER there is one exception: Whenever I switch to the i-Manual, a full screen on-screen instruction manual, the TV never turns off. I tested for hours!... -
