sound blaster Z SE ,How to check these caps?

    Hi guys.
I ordered the used sound card, but I got scammed.
clearly these caps are probably in bad condition and need replacement How can I check them?
It is the sound blaster Z SE sound card.
And the bottom part is a lot scratched.

That card looks in bad shape, I suspect the two capacitors are working fine it is just their cover that is damaged, I did notice other components that seem to be missing like C161, R101, R103 and maybe others, I took this image from a video

If you look close at those solder pads you can see that there were components there at one time and were broken off, I would look closely at the rest of this board as there are likely more missing components, and I suspect the card may have been defective before it had this damage.

After a closer look at the rear picture it sure looks like there are cut traces.

So yeah, googled and figured out.
The one is showing very low resistance which means its bad.
I wonder if the card would work properly without it, since I don't have replacement one.

I`d replace all of them as they`re G.LUXON and Fujicon . Whats the green stuff on the chip ,is it corrosion

You won`t know until youve cleaned it up properly and replaced the bad caps

may i clean the chip with 70% isopropyl?
I don't have these caps,I will take the card to a guy who repairs laptops, but since this thing is cheap I am 99 % sure he won't take it for a repair.

                  99% is prefered
but under a tap with a brush and dish-soap also works.

the scratches are kind of expected, it's obviously spent years in a box with other pcb's from scrapped pc's

If any of those scratches have cut through a track that will need repairing. There might or might not be a corroded via under the chip, you can look at the opposite side of board, dead opposite,if there are any vias there then the chip would need desoldering to see how bad the damage is. If you can clean up around the chip and it looks ok use some caps with a higher rating, just for testing, if it works ok order the right ones.

Me, don't have spare boards from where I could harvest caps, and I just talk to guy who repairs electronics he said I don't have time for that, can not make money from it, since it's old and cheap.
I old have one very old desktop motherboard for Athlon XP.

Can´t you buy a couple of small electrolytic caps in some store near you and try with them ?

I took it to local repair guy he cleanee the green chip with contact spray...he tried to find caps with same rating but he only found one. Then he measured both "suspicious" caps wiith some unit like tweezers claiming both are okay.
Then he told me go home and try the card.
I put it in 2 different PCs no luck, I get a freeze just before login screen at Windows splash logo.

get a linux live disk instead of windows - if it boots up you can check the hardware.
it may be an interupt conflict.

you can also reset the acpi if i remember right in the bios.
what other cards do you have in the machine?

                              Only integrated one from MoBo.

I contacted once again the repair guy but he was very rude to me and I quote what he wrote:
"I charge for close examination with price, which is over price the price you bought the card (which was 15 euros).I can replace the capacitor, but if then again card does not work it is because the damaged chip which led to blown cap, you loose money for paying me my work and I loose spare last cap, and you end up back to begining".
You people don't know, the chips from ebay are sent to Bosnia at silly price which is usually 5-10 times more cost then the priced of the chip, and we wait for like 2-3 months.
I can not believe myself that I'm screwing with some garbaged, scraped used and badly injured sound card.

Traces on the back of the card looks OK-enough to me. Scratched a little - yes... but doesn't looks like the scratches are that deep to have cut them. Could/should check for yourself, of course. However, I suspect none are that deep. Also, most of them look repairable.

That said, did you try the card out in a PC? At worst, it just shouldn't work. At best, it could be working OK.

if you get that far try booting in safemode as you ignored my Linux advice.
if windows runs in safemode the driver is wrong or missing or the plug&pray settings are miss-configured

btw, welcome to the early days of computing and the bullshit that is windows.
i went through this crap for years back in the day building new machines for people.
even putting the card in a different slot can make it use a different interupt or DMA channel.
