I have a trace elliot bass amp. There is a momentary switch for cutting on and off the 12 band eq. Sound passes through the amp when its on, but when i turn it off it pops and no sound passes through it. So i tested c30, r65, r66, and r67 and they all were fine. So it must be the relay right? The only identification is 47w/6 on the top of it. In the parts list on the schematic it only says 30amp relay (which i dont think 30 amps is going to it anyways). Any suggestions on finding a relay. I have the pdf of the schematic.

Re: Bass guitar amp switch problem
That relay is just switching a small signal, so 30 amps is definitely overkill by a huge factor. They probably just want to keep their parts stock required to a minimum, and they use the same relay for other things. You can probably use about any 12V relay, as the actual current being switched is going to be minimal. If that relay is identical to RL1, you could swap them in the circuit to confirm the relay as your problem. If the problem changes, you know the relay is bad.
If you substitute a relay, you will probably have to figure out how to mount it and wire it into the circuit, as it most likely won't fit directly into the board in place of the old relay.Last edited by randtek; 12-23-2012, 06:36 AM. -

Check the DC voltage on the coil to see if it does change state when you activate/de-activate the bypass switch.Never stop learning

by SluggerBI have a very small float switch, I'm using in a very small tank. It only fits in one way. Link https://www.amazon.com/uxcell-Switch.../dp/B07DZ1J2GB
I want the switch to be open when the water is high, and closed when the water is low. Unfortunately it works the opposite. And since this switch is designed to be underwater, it's all sealed up, there is no taking it apart or hacking it up.
It will be driving a water pump, basic idea, when the water is low, switch closes, which turns on water pump, when enough water is in the tank, float switch floats,... -

by Natob82Great to be here! I'm a newbie here trying to find a "micro", momentary push switch to repair a Sony "clamshell" video walkman. This micro switch has long since discontinued by Sony, however I hope there are third-party switches of the same size and functionality that I might be able to source to play the same role. The purpose of this switch is to tell the video walkman that the user has activated the mechanical tape eject button, turning that physical action into an electronic signal that tells the tape transport mechanism to open so one can load or eject a video tape. I...

by grimacelordHello,
I've been working on a NEC TurboExpress and I accidentally got the plastic inside the power ON/OFF switch too hot while doing other repairs and melted it. At first, it would still power on when sliding the switch, but you had to really press inward while sliding to get it to work.
I removed the switch component and tried to gently melt the plastic back so it would work more reliably and all I managed to do was make it worse.
I need to find a replacement On/OFF switch for this, but having some trouble figuring out which kind of switch I need.... -
by CuriousJohnBurco BCPLSAFWM5L 5 Litre Wall Mounted Automatic Water Boiler With Filtration UK 240v
Does anybody have any experience with these Burco units at all there is no record of them on the forum lol and a proper service manual would be nice. I invite you all to pesuade me not to botch repair it with a 5v relay, read on.
This unit was rescued from a skip 3 years ago, the only fault it had then was no backight display (plus it wanted a new probe set and top seal) but the screen was never an issue you can still see the screen as is and I just use it to get 5 Litres of very hot... - Loading...
