    Caps for PASO DMA2120

I am looking to replace all the caps in this 'digital' amplifier, which is used for a Muzak system in a strip mall. It has 120Watt output on either 8 ohm, 25 or 70 volt speaker system. Speakers are driven through a toroidal transformer and it has a linear power supply.

Original complaint is no volume on input #3, which was verified against input #4 using a 'Y' cable from my MP3 player. There is no master volume control on this unit, just the inputs have level controls. The preamps are JRC 4558DD op-amps I still need to track down the loss of signal on input #3.

The capacitors have no known series and the logo looks like a DG or GD. I went to http://capacitor.web.fc2.com/ and had no luck there. The 10uF 50V in the first two attached pictures reads as 10 uF and ESR of 6.3 ohms. The 470uF 16V is a strange one as it reads 680uF and .27 ohms.

The primary filter caps are 10,000uF 50V 25dia x50mm tall, also unknown brand (XC inside a circle, CD293 105C). The tops feel slightly vented but there was no AC hum on the output of this amp. Looking to replace these with Nichicon VZ's. Would 2850mA ripple current rating be enough for this amp?

FWIW, I was looking at replacing all with Nichicon PS series, with the 10uF 50V specs are at 2.1 ohms and 120 mA ripple current.

Is the 10UF 50V cap for the interstage audio coupling cap or DC filter cap? 6.3 Ohms ESR for 10uF is high, but if it is used for coupling cap, that will not have that much effect to the operation of the circuit.

      Re: Caps for PASO DMA2120

After replacing 69 electrolytic caps, I finally have input #3 and input #4 working properly.

Half of the caps tested bad, open or high esr. All were replaced with either Panasonic FC's or Nichicon PW's, except for the primary input filter caps. Those caps were replaced with Nichicon VZ's.

BTW, this amp was built in November '05 and none of the caps had date code on them.
