    Avteq psm-100 fades

I picked up a freebie on Craigslist. An Avteq psm-100 video conferencing speaker unit. It works for a few seconds, then fades out.

A little about me: I'm 39. I took electronics for two years in high school and was top in my class. I could design circuits in my head, build them, and they worked. Fast forward to 22 years later. I've forgotten most all of it. I'm a server geek and make my living with computers. I'm trying to get back in to this again. I love working with a soldering iron and electronics.
I salvage components from dead electronics and appropriately recycle the remains. Cap replacement is nothing new to me. I've been doing it for years to salvage old computers and other devices.

Now back to the program. Where do I start on this thing? I really don't have a clue where to begin.

    Thanks!

As in all electronics repair, remember what your teacher in electronics told you: power supply voltage checking will be the first place to verify since it is common to all section of the unit.

Thanks. I'll try to tear it apart tonight and see what I can find. Initial examination showed no failed components.
