Put a 2S LiPo in or 6 x AA(A) and you got all kinda of power. Hardly anybody makes anything that uses a 9V block anymore, besides smoke detectors and gas alarm. Even garage remotes use a CR2025 and a smaller controller.
The only thing you didn’t check are the MLCC. For a 10 Bucks fish alarm it’s not worth friggin around with too much.

Fishing bite alarm drains battery
Good day to all. The bite alarm drains 9-volt Krona batteries. Current consumption when switched on is about 50 mA. I wiped the board from oxides, I will attach a photo (on the board there is a j3y transistor and a 7533 stabilizer, the microcircuit is erased = (the 3.3-volt stabilizer heats up weakly. I replaced it, nothing changed. I unsoldered the microcircuit, the consumption disappeared. The resistance on the pins of the unsoldered microcircuit from the point clockwise is more than 2 megaohms, the 11th leg is presumably ground. I warmed up the microcircuit, the consumption does not change. Voltage in standby mode - pin 1-0

by u666saLaptop is HP Envy x360 13-bf0013dx, hp website link, it's an i7-1250U with 8 gig onboard ram.
Platform: ipa32 la-m024p rev 1b
Originally you'd plug power supply into it and it would take up to 1.2 amps and then drop to 200 milliamps and then go back up again to 1.2, staying all the while at 5 volts. Pressing power button would results in power LED blinking amber 3 times. 3.3 volt rail, 5.1 volt rail present, main power rail 8.8 volts. Power button test pads near EC chip 2.7 volts.
I found a short on the other side:

by jimmy2022Hello. Main power rail and secondary power rail working, but 3.3 and 5 volts is missing. the ec chip has 3.3 volts except that all neighbouring components around ec chip either 0 volts or half volt. tested for shorts can't find anything. i have also included picture of 3.3/5volt chip. there is missing ac detect signal. any help? When pressing power button the 3.3 v drops and then goes back to 3.3 vafter letting go of the button
5 v coil and 3.3 v coil has very high resistance.... -
by supermattchHi everyone.
I am diagnosing my personal laptop, because it wont power on and no leds light up.
At the dc-in there are 8 pins, 1 and 2 shows healthy 19.66 volts. The next three are ground, but the 6th one shows .283 volts. This is strange to me, it should be 3.3 or 5 or aome volts not 0.283v. As I am new to this, I would like some guidance. Please someone advise me on what to check next.
Oh the boardview and schematics I am using is for a similar model as I cannot find the proper one anywhere. Quanta DA0P5HMB8F1 rev F. Nowhere on the internet.09-23-2025, 12:13 PM -
by Tom41This house has a Honeywell Accenta G3 alarm system. If the main unit loses power for any reason, the external siren sounds - even if the alarm is not even armed! Entering the code to disarm it is not an option as the keypads are completely dead when the power is out.
I presume this means the backup battery inside the box has failed, but I can't get in there and replace it without also setting off a tamper alarm! Is there any way to disable the tamper alarm so that electrical work can be carried out with the power off? Or a way to replace the backup battery without setting off the... -
by MisterAILHi everyone,
Brought a non functionnal PS5. Apparently only a bad PSU...
No beep, nothing.
After some tests i found this :
- PSU is fine (12 volts stable)
- 12 volts line is shorted
- DA9065 was fried, F7003 also => Replaced both of them, short is gone on 12 volts line, no dead short anywhere else.
- By the way, nothing change. No signal, no power, no beep.
Mesuring all rails with my workbench psu (12 volts input)
- 0.00 amp drawing
- 12 volts, 5 volts, 2 volts, 1,15 volts are presents (suppose new DA9065 do is...5 Photos - Loading...
