Hi all. I was given this JBL Flip Essential speaker that 'fell from about 8 feet' and then the bluetooth would no longer function. It seems to power on normally and responds to button presses, but it will not showup on bluetooth for any device I try to connect to it.
The bluetooth daughter board has a 26mhz oscillator that I could not get to read the proper frequency so I tried replacing that to no avail. Thought maybe something was wrong with the bluetooth IC it's connected to, so I tried replacing that as well. None of the caps in the area are shorted out, the inductor on the daughter board reads a very low resistance. My biggest qualm right now is not being able to read 26Mhz on that oscillator, I can't seem to figure out why. I know the chip is getting 3.3v. The closest datasheet to the Bluetooth IC I can find is this https://datasheet4u.com/datasheet-pd...php?id=1152019 (actual model is WS9623ADSFF) and I cannot find a schematic for the JBL Flip Essential at all.
I did not see any missing components as I went through the board. There was one SMD electrolytic Cap that was ripped from the board, I'm guessing I did that by accident opening this thing up, but I have reconnected it.
Any advice would be appreciated!
thanks
