auxiliary electric coolant pump motor PCB repair 1K0965561J
    by flat-earther
The auxiliary coolant pump, AKA turbo after run electric coolant pump, parking heater, on a 1.8 TSI VW VAG engine did not work.
    part number 1K0965561J
I removed the pump and applied 12V to it but nothing happened.
The contact on flat side of the plastic molding is the positive.

I opened the pump by prying and pulling out the bottom piece where the electric plug is, it needs to be pulled out, it can not be twisted.

I discovered a PCB inside and it was wet and full of corrosion, I cleaned it with alcohol and toothbrush and tried 12V again and the motor...

candy tumble dryer (evoc 981 at-s) Component 738
    by Petros_Z
Hello. I have a board of a candy tumble dryer (evoc 981 at-s).
It does not give an error but it keeps drying even without load. It has 3 ntc. Two are for the clothes and one for the compressor. I measure them and they look ok. I went to the board to measure the voltage given to them. It gives about 4v and it is going down as the ntc value going down.
Because I wanted to measure more easily I tried to solder wires on the board. Probably I manage to destroy the component of the title. It looks like as a smd resistor. Hopefully there were other two same components. I disorder them and...

Beko Tumble Dryer DTLCE80021W cutting out/tripping RCD
    by spleenharvester
This dryer is several years old and has previously had a new motor cap. Currently it's behaving erratically - sometimes it finishes the cycle fine, other times it cuts out after a random period of time (just stops with no LEDs as if it has finished normally), and occasionally it trips the RCD. There's always steam coming off the clothes at the time it cuts out.

Going to pull it apart tomorrow, before I lob a new heating element at it is there anything else worth checking? It's £70 for a new heating element and the whole machine only cost £180 to begin with...

Tumble Dryer - motor start capacitor
    by tmcw
I was looking for a replacement capacitor for a tumble dryer, and I found one on eBay that has the correct values, and even looked similar, but of course, when the capacitor arrived, it didn't look like the cap in the listing picture.

I've attached the old (left) and the replacement (right) caps in a picture. The new one has plastic housing, the old one has a metal housing and is bigger. Am I likely to have any issues with this replacement?

    Thanks....

Indesit vented tumble dryer control board dead
    by notallbad
Anyone able to help diagnose the fault with this board please.

Hopefully photos are clear enough to give me direction on what readings to take and where.

All ancillary components of the dryer have been tested and work i.e heating element, thermostats, sensors, motor, door switch, wiring harness.

So theres 230v at the control board but no life whatsoever with or without the ancillaries connected.

The on/off/timer dial contacts are clean and make good contact. All the through hole mounted components appear to be good i.e diodes, resistors,...
