    Repairing superfine wiring

I ended up with a Sony PMW-EX3 that was in a pretty nasty fall. At this point I've repaired everything but the wire harness that brings video to the LCD viewfinder. It's this bundle of several dozen wires 0.3mm in diameter that has one clearly broken wire and several others either questionably intact or with damaged insulation. I can splice them but I have no idea how to insulate the repairs.

The smallest shrink tube I have only reduces to about 0.8mm and wouldn't work. The harness can't have the wiring completely replaced due to the special crimped ends and so far the best I've gotten out of Sony is that they no longer sell replacement parts for this model camera anymore.

Investigate if it would be possible to use flat flex cables .. solder the wires to the ends of the ribbon cable (possibly cut in several less wide segments and stacked on top of each other)

          Here's an example ... about 3$ for a strip with 23+ wires, 0.3 mm pitch: http://www.digikey.com/products/en/c...t+ribbon+cable

From what I'm reading there I think that doesn't shrink small enough.

Are you sure? Says 1:5 ratio. I think the maximum size spec is just worst case scenario?

Some nail paint might work, i've used it to protect some components form corrosion.

No the ends are crimped and so small that trying to pry it back apart is going to open a can of worms.

Sony KDL-40Z4500 LCD with stripes and 9 blinks (possible BGC board or harness problem
                        by huj3r
                        Hi there!

I have a Sony Bravia KDL-40Z4500 which shows a colored vertical stripes pattern when turning on, with a central black shadow that slowly dissipates within the first 10 seconds.

Photo of the situation after the black shadow dissipates:

After this behavior the red LED will blink 9 times, then pause for a bit, and blink again 9 times, in a loop.

I checked the manual (available here) and this corresponds to "HFR error", quoting from the manual:

                        > This indicates HFR Communication error. [ HFR Communication...

I'm looking for the wiring diagram for led monitor model DHI-LM19-L200
                        by gabri2211
hello everyone, I'm looking for the wiring diagram of this led monitor.
the model is DHI-LM19-L200, but I think that any other diagram of a DAHUA monitor could be equivalent.
I really hope that among you someone can help me to repair this monitor, the screen is black, it doesn't seem like a backlight problem.
I see the presence of 12 volts, 5 volts, but without a diagram the repair is very difficult.
thanks to those who will answer

                        Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone might be able to offer some guidance on repairing a Wine Enthusiast N'finity 170 bottle wine cellar, model 273 02 70.

I recently acquired this unit for free via Facebook Marketplace, hoping to fix it up as a gift for my wife. I have some basic electronic skills (comfortable with a multimeter, basic soldering, identifying components) but I'm definitely not an advanced technician.

The main challenge is that when I picked up the unit, the main control/power board had already been removed and the previous owner said it needs a...

Is there a 8 pin wiring standard for hot air guns?
                        by Crystaleyes
                        Hi all.

A while back I was given a very dead Ya Xun 878D+ rework station, the kind that has a fixed hot air gun and a removable iron with the 5 pin socket.

It was a fairly straightforward repair and has been working well, but one thing has bugged me was that the hot air gun couldn't be disconnected, so I bought an 8 pin socket and plug set in order to resolve this.
Yesterday, after stripping it down and cutting the wires, it dawned on me that there is probably a 'standard' as to which wires are connected to which of the 8 pins?

                        Obviously, I can...
