A soldering flux : I've been used Organic fluxes for 6 years, I collect pine tree rosin+alcohol +Lard or tallow then mixed it .

One of the early fluxes was a mixture of equal amounts of rosin and Vaseline. A more aggressive early composition was a mixture of saturated solution of zinc chloride, alcohol, and glycerol.(add some acid, u can make dynamite ).

B soldering paste : Every time you clean the soldering sucker, keep the debris, Add some A . Now u have homemade soldering paste.

C Chip Quik: A fusible alloy is a metal alloy as Rose's metal, Field's metal & Wood's metal. The most important element is Bismuth. mix with B with D get C Chip Quik.

    Rose's metal consists of 50% bismuth, 25–28% lead and 22–25% tin. Its melting point is between 94 °C (201 °F) and 98 °C (208 °F).

Laptop overheating after replacement thermal paste
      by Veyron7887
Hi. I have Asus X55C laptop from year 2013. It has i3-2328M CPU. I replaced stock thermal paste with high quality thermal paste. Before thermal paste replacement, I measured CPU temperature Around 65-70 degrees Celcius with stock thermal paste. If after the replace thermal paste, I measured CPU temperature around 80-84 degrees Celcius and fan don't stop when system is idle. I replaced the thermal paste several times but still did not change. Where is the problem?

Guide to transplant MEC1503 EC chip and EEPROM reprogamming for T14s gen 2 and X13 gen 2
      by acedogblast
This is a guide that I am writing for helping others to replace their MEC1503 EC chip if it breaks (or to get around an inconvenient prompt to the BIOS). This forum has been extremely helpful to me so I would like to contribute to help others. I will tell you right now that this task is very difficult to do. You MUST have experience and tools to do precision micro-soldering, BGA reballing, trace repair, and general laptop repair skills.

There are some specialty tools needed to do this task. The replacement MEC1503 chips can be acquired from Aliexpress. Do not buy the bare chips as...

Elitebook 840 G5 Bios Chip Soldering Question
      by Azurain
      Hi everyone,

I have an HP Elitebook 840 G5 that I am trying to get working again. I've removed the front bios chip (the 32mb one) and have run it through HP unlocker already. I've uploaded and verified the new bin, but am now experiencing an issue that has led me to believe I've been soldering the chip back to the motherboard incorrectly.

Essentially, after re-soldering the chip back into its place and reassembling the laptop, the charging light immediately flashes orange and white and then shifts to a solid white. The capslock and numlock lights blink seven times...
