PIR sensor died on LED floodlight

I should be able to figure this out, but am lost for the moment.
Any experts on here? I do not have a working scope at the moment, but have plenty multimeters.

Replaced the actual infrared sensor on the PCB, but the overall issue (not shutting off once triggered) is still happening.

Here's the reverse engineered schematic. Let me know if I should clean it up.

The IR sensor is on the edge of the paper on the top. It gives off a pulse when something is detected. (Top left opamp)
Sens is the potmeter for the sensitivity. (bottom left opamp)
Lux is a potmeter to determine at what ambient light it should start to work. (Pulls down the output of the PCB when it is too light?)
Time is a simple RC time constant which feeds the top right opamp which feeds a relay on another PCB. (bottom right opamp)

I am running the PCB from a stable powersupply (7V) instead of its own AC-DC PCB (makes 20V for the 24V relay and 8V for the opamp).

When stuffing the whole PCB into a stainless steel double walled insulating cup and measuring the output of the bottom right, it retriggers irregularly every few seconds. So it is logical that the floodlight never turns off.

Any clue where I should look?

It looks like a vanilla PIR sensor circuit.

Check the DC power supply you are using is quiet and earth grounded and you did ground your metal cup to it? If is it a 2-prong PSU then hum and noise can cause false triggering.

PIR sensors have cheap electrolytic capacitors, I would replace them all. It's the main reason I find these go wonky.
You can use a multimeter and check if the PIR or the light sensor is doing the false triggering.

There are many schematics on the web if you search "pir sensor lm324".

Watch out for some of the so call circuits out there, for example:
      http://8085projects.info/lm324-based...h-circuit.html
      http://www.8085projects.info/image.a...20circuit..jpg
See U1-3 Input pins 9 & pin 10 are tied together, R12 and R13 are not doing anything.

This one is from PIR Mfg. App circuit.

Re: PIR sensor died on LED floodlight

What's a vanilla pir ? I get tons of dirty download links when I google that

I will have a look at the electrolitic capacitors and compare some more schematics of circuits. I found a few before, but adding LM324 ups the useful hits a lot!

          Thanks!

BTW, the powersupply is not grounded during testing but is a laboratory power supply that should be stable enough, especially compared to the transformerless capacitor/resistor network that normally powers the circuit. Will make sure to plug the PS into a grounded outlet next time. The floodlight itself is grounded but only to the housing, but again have not tested this in a grounded outlet since replacing the PIR sensor (D203S).

"Vanilla" means "generic", "jelly bean", "ordinary".

AcuRite 5 in 1 temperature sensor replacement repair
              by CapLeaker
              Got a new victim:

AcuRite 5 in 1 Iris outdoor weather station not updating the temperature / humidity anymore. The original sensor is a SHT21. Also there are identical other sensor manufacturers. I chose the HTU21D to replace the original SHT21. Both have identical specs. I've had two failure modes with these sensors.
A: outside temp stuck at -40? It's cold here at times in Canada, but not that cold!
B: stuck at some temperature and maybe updating once in 12 hrs or so.

Easy solution is to go to AcuRite website and purchase the sensor. Right?...

Google Pixel 5 - Proximity Sensor Issues - Reflow/Replacement procedure tipps wanted

              Hi,
I just replaced the battery on a Google Pixel 5.
After that the proximity sensor isn't functioning properly any more. It is constantly activated. So when playing a voice message on Whatsapp, the Screen instantly turns off.
Checking with a sensor app I can verify weird behavior of the sensor. It is triggered when nothing is near and sometimes works correctly when squeezing the phone next to the sensor hole.
The rubber seal is on again (as mentioned in various suggestions in other forums).

This smells like a cold or broken solder joint. So I'd like to reflow...

Dell Latitude 5570 Ambient thermal sensor reading -127 Degrees C
              by Gcnewbie
Forgive me this is my first request for help on this forum, so if i've screwed up or not followed the rules i should have i apologise profusely.

I have a Dell Latitude 5570 that was randomly shutting down, on further investigation i found that the machine had been shutting down due to thermal events as noted by windows event viewer.
My investigations lead me to the dell diagnostics screen, where i found that there were two sensors out of range which had been causing the shutdowns, one of which was the GPU thermal sensor and the other the ambient sensor.
              I opened the...

              Auriol weather station humidity sensor
              by otoluk
I have two Lidl LD6273 Auriol units with DCF77 radio for time update.
I really like the idea but the cheap moisture sensor(guess HR202L) inaccuracies make the device unreliable. Also not clear why indoor and outdoor unit sensors being same type doesn't match. For example I place both units on same table and indoor unit shows 23% humidity while outdoor sensor shows 39%. What I found out is that I get better readings if cleaning the solder points of sensor inside with isopropyl alcohol.
Looking for replacement sensor which I could solder in place of HR202L resistive sensor but need...

Soldering plastic low profile FPC close camera CMOS sensor ?
              by corrize
Hello, I will have to solder a very small FPC connector (pins : 0.3mm), on the pcb of CMOS sensor, it is very close. I was surprised by movie on ytb, someone soldering directly with hot air directly on the sensor without kapton, nothing.
CMOS sensor seems resist to high temps.
But I also directly saw sensor broken because a blocked motor at the corner became very hot and probably bent the metal frame and cracked the sensor.

I have low melting point solder.
I will probably test hot air directly on one of plastic connector (I have a lot) at 320 degree on a test
