Datasheet and component replacement for AMCC Q20025-0080B

    Hello folks,

I've been seeking help on another forum while BadCaps was down but didn't have much luck so far. I have an HP 16534A 500 MHz bandwidth oscilloscope module for my HP 16702B logic analyzer. When I bought the module, the guy told me the triggering wasn't working correctly. I found two missing SMD caps on the circuit for this U509 component. I believe they're 10 nF SMD caps. I'm thinking maybe MLCC. The caps don't have any markings or anything on them and it's impossible to find a schematic.

I had a couple questions. Does anyone know how I can figure out what voltage my SMD replacement caps need to be?

I tore off the heatsink for U509 and I found a metal screw under there, on the leads for the chip. The head of the screw was broken off and it looked like someone was trying to drill it out. My guess is the screw ended up flying in the air and got stuck under this heatsink and when someone went to try the module out, it shorted out the chip and made those two caps explode off the board.

The U509 chip says stuff on it:
    AMCC 9816

    Q20025-0080B
    309245Z

I believe it's made by AMCC and the part number is Q20025-0080B. I haven't been able to find any, anywhere on the net. I've tried Alibaba. They list people as having them. But every time I go to start an order, it sends the seller a message and changes the part number to some stupid LED thing. I'm guessing they just don't have any. I think this component is a Logic Array, whatever that is. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you!

    HP schems should be around.
that chip number is bs - obviously a HP part number.

when the attachements work, post good foto's of the area.

Will do! I've searched high and low for the schematics. I could find the service manual, but no schematics. I've contacted KeySight, who know owns the rights and they said they've been long since destroyed. I've also contacted AMCC. Found a datasheet for the AMCC Q20000 series. It lists a 100-pin Q20025 in there. Some sort of Logic Array / Gate Array. Found a PDF saying AMCC sold information to Rochester Electronics back in 2011 so they could start recreating the Q20000 series chips and it said they already recreated the hardest of all of them. But when I go to their site, they list AMCC parts, but no Q20025 or anything like that. I've sent them an e-mail as well and I'm waiting for a response.

It'd be great if I could find a replacement part Stj! Thanks for trying to help! I'll post a pic when they start working again.

A guy on AliExpress says they have the Q20025-0080B made by AMCC. They just got back to me. They said they're 40$ a pop. Sounds a bit high, doesn't it? Can people on that site normally be trusted you think? I've bought stuff from there before, but never anything where I had to contact the seller first, like with this product...

Wow, seems like everyone replied all at once! Another company has them, Q20025-0080B 2pcs AMCC QFP $37.5/pcs in stock New and original...

Southern Electronics says unit price is 26$. Does that mean a piece or for both I wonder...they accept PayPal.

32$ a pop from HK RUIK COMPANY LIMITED.

BHT International wants 32$ a pop too.

Wow, one of these sites seemed to of sent my request off to multiple people out in China / Hong Kong. I got six more replies from people offering to sell me them. They all quoted my original message to SeekIC.com. Crazy.

i have a 2020 macbook pro 13" A2251 with 820-09149 logic board so i found an issue with chip labeled U6903 according to schem. boardview using flexBV software, so i removed it from the board and the issue im having is that the chip says "07A08FI ELC180" on top of it but when searching for a replacement chip, i can find tons of identical looking chips that also have "ELC180" printed on them but the first set of digits is never the same so im trying to find out if i need this exact chip with these same numbers as mine and if not which ones are compatible as a replacement?...

Screw-In Barrel Adapter for LED light array gets really hot?
              by zman78
              Hi All,

I have an LED Light array that had a built-in AC-DC 24v 45 watt power supply. The power supply failed so I desoldered the LED Light array power input wires from the power supply and then screwed it into barrel connector jack (ends still tinned with the original solder).

This is the barrel connect or jack https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07Q6YMM6F/

Then I bought an external 24Volt/3Amp power brick (with same size barrel connector output) and plugged it in.

Everything works fine, except that the screw-in barrel connector gets...

Upgrading a Samsung ue55nu7096u with logic board from an ue55ru7105k -- good idea?
              by ohren
I hope this is the right forum to post in despite not technically being a repair, but still a question of swapping boards.

I thought I'd explore the possibility to upgrade an existing working Samsung ue55nu7096u with the logic board (and power board if needed) of a newer model (ue55ru7105k) of the same size and appearance (and resolution). The reason being I'd like the extra inputs of that board including component in, an extra HDMI port and bluetooth. Its panel is broken so I have no use for the board otherwise.

The models launched in 2018 and 2019 respectively....

Macbook Air M2 A2681 Kernel panics after screen replacement
              by reformatt
Just had a customer bring in a M2 MBA A2681 that had had a screen replacement in April at another repairer. Since then, she has been getting intermittent kernel panics. It's an aftermarket screen, and of course it fails in diagnostics as the calibration hasn't been done. The error in the panic log is "No device added after powering on the rails".

It seems the original repairer has swapped the board and the screen to other MAC's, and said that it isn't a screen issue. From what I understand, by doing a quick search on Google, this is in fact a screen issue. The panic relates...

Unknown transformer : how to find a good replacement part ?
              by the_rem
              Hello guys,

I would like a quite old but still good 800 W ATX PSU to be repaired. The problem was an extremely heavy coil whine coming from the small secondary transfomer on the PCB.

I desoldered it hoping the references on the upper side would allow me to find a adequate replacement part. Sadly the written references drove me nowhere but to the manufacturer (I-MAG). I sent them a message like a bottle in the see asking them to send me a datasheet of the transformer. And... They responded ! I received a kind of datasheet (see attachment) but my competencies do not allow...
