Interesting, I didn't even notice the stamping on the tops IRL but they're clear in the macro photograph. Probably the thing I like most of my Canon P&S still camera, no other cameras can come "close" in macro mode.
Actually this camcorder also can focus pretty darn close but does not have the resolution. And has 8x zoom, handily beating the 3x in the Canon.Comment

Three in 2 years. But I've also scratched a couple really bad by knocking things over while stripping others for parts. I disassemble the broken screen ones in the basement now though. It's when I have so many that I can't work that I start fucking them up. I have about 80 right now. You guys have created a monster!Just wandering people how many Crt, Lcd, Pdp or Oled screens have you cracked accidentally ? This could be when repairing the display or just pure harsh luck.
I can proudly say in all 322 Tvs I have repaired (so far) I have never accidentally cracked a single display
Of course some that haven't been economically repairable have met the sole of my foot lol

This reminds me of the very soul jarring moment I was sitting on my bed doing school work, way back in the day, and got up, leaving my laptop on my bed, but then tripped over the chord. The laptop crashed to the floor and I fell right on it, stepping directly on the screen in the process, shattering the crystals. I cried so much when the dazed and confused moment faded and I realized what a really really crappy thing had happened. Even thinking of it now brings back such painful memories. Had to buy a new screen and replace it. Thankfully it worked with no other damage on the new screen install.Comment

I have three Microsoft Surface Pro 5 model 1796, with all cracked screens.
Have bought from Aliexpress three new screens, the part numbers from my and the seller are the same:
Bad working China screen part number:
Good working own screen part number
Error I get with the bad working China screen:
No error with the good working own screen:
All the three China screens (all the same exact part numbers) produce the same error in Device manager. Have also performed a clean installation... -

It appears I've accidentally applied 19VDC to a PCB that should only run 12VDC.
The board now does not power on, even with 12VDC..
Using a thermal camera shows entire board remains COLD except one component (near power plug) that heats to 120C and higher!!
Suspected component is marked with "T" (slanted) and "BE", think/hope it is some kind of fuse, in photo just ABOVE the green power terminals and LEFT of the 16V capacitor (on right of photo)
Interesting part is measuring continuity across that component shows 0-reistance... -

I have got an old Gardtec GT595 alarm which has got a faulty keypad with a failed LCD screen. This was apparently a very common problem with these and many people have had to replace the whole alarm because of this problem. Somebody claims to be able to repair the keypads by replacing the screen and I have tried it myself by replacing the LCD with a commonly available HD44780 1602 16x2 Serial LCD screen but it is not working. I am sure it is a problem with a driver or simular which is not allowing the screen to talk to the rest of the electronics. Does anyone know what this original screen was... -
I've never seen a screen cracked like this and still have a perfect picture.
Maybe it's the diffuser cracked like on some of the Samsung NU series.
Just curious what you guys think. TV is for sale in my area and thinking of maybe trying my luck.
Wanted some other opinions before I pull the trigger...
