Goes to the 12V heater power source...
Looks like an AM superhet 5-tube radio. Usually the heater in these tubes are hooked up in series as depicted by a heater string elsewhere on the schematic that might have been cut off from the submitted scan.Last edited by eccerr0r; 12-08-2015, 02:45 PM. -

Yesterday I was installing a new Wifi thermostat for my domestic gas water heater model Vaillant 242/2-3, and accidentlly one wire from mains touched one wire from the thermostat output contacts. This shut off the heater so I finished installing the thermostat and then went out to check the heater
I found one fuse blown (T2 250V). Replaced it with another equivalent fuse and it blew right away. I measured L-N in mains input and I sometimes got 4K but sometimes, not sure why, I got 100 Ohm...

Some background - I have one of those chinese diesel heaters, which I'm using to heat a garage. Probably most of you are familiar with that units, but here is some basic info - the main heater body is enclosed with the motherboard+sensors unit inside a plastic case. The heater has a glow plug, that works only when the unit is starting (start the fire in the burner) and stopping (make sure to completely burn the fuel inside the burner) and two fans on a single motor. One fan is used to push fresh air in the burner, the other is used to push cold air in the case and... -
Hi everyone!
I managed to get my hands on a rough condition B&K 707 for "the best price" because it was not working. It's my first tube tester and I'm really wanting to get it up and running. I downloaded that manual that has the schematics and tested every resistor and capacitor and replaced the ones that failed. I replaced the missing 83 rectifier tube with a used but tested-good one. I also have a number 80 rectifier tube that I have used in tests before I found the 83 tube.

Recently I acquired an Eico HFT 92 AM/FM radio made back in 1958. The unit has had some decent modifications done such as replacing the rectifier tube with silicon diodes and replacing the main filter capacitor with electrolytic capacitors. When I powered it up FM wouldn't tune past 105Mhz. I checked the FM tuner front end assembly and found a capacitor not soldered to the coil from the Plate B+ to and ground on the other side of the coil. Some calibration was needed on the trimmer capacitor on the tuner. My question is AM is extremely weak. When I tap on the tube I get all kinds of snapping and...
