I have just managed to get hold of the specification for the appliance, and it is rated at 80W

stj I wouldn't even know how to convert this Hot Air Gun into the PTC element I have.. I only have 1 AC port, so where does AC2 come in? Also, that is being run off 24v PSU but is this the method I should be following, then converting from Ac240v to DC 24v?

I fix things regularly, however I do sometimes struggle follow a schematic when it includes for example AC 1, AC2, AC 0, as well as 5v, 5vA, 5vB etc etc.. I don't understand all these additional prefix's.

If you are struggling to understand the more difficult concepts, then maybe you should try my simple solution and see how it goes. Find an incandescent light dimmer whose rating you can believe, then disconnect the two wires from the food warmer's power switch and connect them to your dimmer. The rest is a physical mounting problem.

The dimmer I found earlier has a claimed rating of 100W, but I don't trust it.
