    SMD Fuse and Diode replacements.

    Hello!!!

I have 2 parts for identification (marked with red dots in the photos), if you may help.

The first is from an old HDD PCB, and it is probably a fuse (?), blown ( checked with my dmm) and as far as i know ( by the circled "M" symbol) by Murata.I may be wrong (i could not find any Murata fuses, only capacitors) but anyone who knows can share the info.

The second part is probably a PNP FET transistor, marked P06 with a vertical 14, it is also blown as you can see in the second photo. I tried to trace down the part, and the best i could do is the attached datasheet. I may be wrong again, if someone knows, you're welcome.

If someone has information on the above, i would appreciate if he could share it.

    Thank you in advance.

the first is a clock crystal.
    try http://www.marsport.org.uk/smd/mainframe.htm
    to find the second

Second could be one of these DDTA123JCA is it definitely a SOT23 package?

Thank you both for your answers. Sorry for my late reply, i hadn't set my forum email account for active notification.

So , my guess was totally off !!! A clock crystal!! Thank you!!!

Yes, as far as i know it is a SOT23, but i will measure it to be sure.

The item you said, is also a PNP SOT23 transistor, only difference is that it is pre-biased ? Am i correct ?

Also seems that the marking on the DDTA123JCA would correctly be P06 but the date code on the burnt one is "14", the DDTA has a date code with letter for year and number for month, while the NXP one ( attached datasheet) does not specify anything about date marking.

        Tough one....

I found one NXP on ebay, but it's ~1,5€ for one piece only, are they really that pricey ?

Does that include postage I would a have thought 20/25c would be about right.

Have you tried looking in any old electronic stuff you could take one off?

            digital transistors arent cheap.
i salvage them of scrapped boards because of it.

            and "20/25c" ?
where do you get that from?
your in the u.k. - you cant even buy a stamp for under 50p

Well, the one I was looking at is here
              http://uk.mouser.com/ProductDetail/D...Qcq/wm7rImVA==

Which is 14p - perhaps I am not comparing like with like?

              Or these

              http://cpc.farnell.com/on-semiconduc...20This%20Range

FREE delivery in the uk - not that I need it as I live nearby.

              3p !!!!!!

last time i looked, free delivery had a minimum order value - and it wasnt a resistor!!

Ok stj - I have not looked for about a month , Min order is now £5 but prior to that for 6 to 8 months they would have sent a 2p resistor for free - I advised many members at the time and they were very pleased, not that many were looking for just a single resistor where abouts are you ?

Re: SMD Fuse and Diode replacements.

The price i wrote in previous post is without shipping.

I stated that price in order to be easy to compare.

@selldoor, salvage from old boards is a very good idea....i'll try to find from someone that has boards for scrap

mouser/farnell/digikey are pricey as far as shipping to Greece is concerned

Next week i might have the opportunity to look at some shops @ the center of Athens, who knows...they might have...

I ordered 10x the specific NXP transistor for 0.6$ each, along with other electronics.

Re: SMD Fuse and Diode replacements.

The motherboard with the burnt PNP was repaired in a few minutes and after that, the CPU Fan works like a charm.

The HDD board whose sensor is shown in the first photo, might be repaired with a replaecment PCB some time. It is not critical now...
