    IC Identification - HELP!

    Hello everybody:

I’m having problems identifying one QFN17 component in an Asus laptop MoBo. I know there are no schematics for this model, nor boardview. I’ve looked thru all internet and I still don’t know which component is this (I attach a couple of pics with both the component and the laptop model, s/n, etc.).

Thanks in advance for your invaluable help.

    APL3530QFI-TUG

It could be an Anpec load switch.

Thanks a lot, truclacicr! Indeed it is! For its position in the circuit, it’s a load switch (it reaches >200°C!).
There are 3 units in the MoBo, one for 3.3V., one for 1.8V., and this one for 5V. There are only around 28 ohms to GND, but in spite of this, this load controller does its job. It’s curious, because the another two marked a “thermal peak” in the very start of the laptop (looking thru a thermal camera), and immediately became cold. But this one remains extremely hot.

I need to investigate a bit more in order to discover this low resistance load.

JFYI, the problem is the load switch itself. Once removed, I measured short between the two big contacts, and even between any of them to ground pins. So now I’m waiting for AliExpress…

        Thanks again!

Fisher and Paykel 10 kg top-load washing machine LED identification
          by mojos911
          Hello everyone,

I'm looking for a replacement for the red LEDs used in a Fisher & Paykel 10 kg top-load washing machine. Each LED is about 6 mm long, mounts flush to the PCB with side tabs, and measures around 1.7 V forward voltage in diode-test mode. The marking on the body is “3A56,” but I can't find any matches for that in part searches. I've attached photos to show the shape and mounting style.

If anyone has sourced an equivalent or knows a suitable replacement, I'd really appreciate your input. Thanks in advance for the help!...

Testing ATX PSUs under load - Does loading the ATX 24 pin also load EPS & PCIE?
          by AJ847.63e
          Hi Folks,

Just wanted to clear up a misunderstanding of mine (or what I expect is one). Isn't the 12V rail from the 24 pin, EPS and PCIE separated? IE if I put a power resistor on the ATX 12V pin that is not going to load, thus tell me if the EPS or PCIE rails are fine?

I was recently watching ArIs from Hardware Busters video on how to properly test ATX PSUs without using 5 figure Croma substations.

The PCB adapter he used breaks out the 12, 5 and 3.3V pins from the 24 pin and gives you banana plugs to connect to. That is a bit useless is it not? Aren't...
