Linear Garage Door Opener Control board took a crap install a new control board back normal

It seems to attack the obstacle sensor circuit and any other device that in the area on the circuit board I have to wonder if this would really make that much difference because at one time I had a hole house surge protector and I still had issues when lighting strikes near the house so I not sure what would really help

Well the original control board was struck by lightning ( hit a tree which the bark was blown off a good portion of the bottom on one side of it ) that hit near the house again this is about 5 or 6 time that this has happened since I have lived in this house that explains why the door sensor was not functioning correctly I am glad that I decided not to try to fix this control board for this garage door opener because it does so much damage to the circuit board devices that I have found in general is a waste of time and money to try getting it to work properly again

If this is a regular thing getting hit by lightning, why not install surge protection?

To answer one question about the cost of a new board it is $114.00

Maybe a capacitor issue but there might one or two but I do not remember of the top of my head how there are

As far as the obstacle sensor is concerned it has been working fine with the new controller board
so I do not think there is an issue with it I think the hole problem is with the controller

As far as it being hard to find a replacement controller board this does not seem to be an issue right now but I will from time to time look and make sure that I can still find them

It's worth it when the model is discontinued and prices for a control board etc. go crazy expensive. How much is a new board?
Your old board has some power supply or data problem, these are running 24/7 and the caps do wear out so power to the obstacle sensors must be bad or maybe it's lightning again.

I guess you could repair the old board if it's worth it.
I will do a recap, change the relays and check remote tuning and then it's all good.

I thought about trying to repair but it has two issues one the obstacle sensor on the side that has the red and green lights only the red one was turning on but not the green one and it would travel about a foot then trip out and reverse sometimes

One other thing it was doing was not receiving the signal from the remotes like it should either you almost had to be next to the door for half way work this took about a year for it to get to that point

When I installed the new controller board everything worked perfectly fine like it did when it was new

I am not sure if it is worth the time and effort to try to fix it

Was the garage door just stopping or does it stop'n reverse by itself? You have to be careful with what is going on with the garage door opener.
When the door is closing, it will only reverse if there is an obstacle in the safety beam, or high torque is detected. Count the number of light flashes (high torque squished the cat =4, or safety beam =3).

If the door just stops mid-travel, it was the remote control receiver falsely detecting another button press.
I had this problem a lot where the door would start to move, then stop. It's the remote signal being too weak and a long press is seen as two short presses.

Linear LDO50 door opener control board, HAE00040 or older is HAE00039.
The control board remote control receiver has a tuning adjustment. Likely the remote has one as well. These drift with getting banged around, or with cold weather as well I find.
It's got an optical speed sensor in the black ring, which is used to sense high torque. Three relays, one for UP, DOWN, LIGHT. Zettler AZ943-1CH-12DE.

Once I had a bad relay cutting out and the motor stopping sometimes.

I guess you could repair the old board if it's worth it.

Well the new controller did the trick it is behaving itself the way it should and being a pain in the a** like it was

I have been having issues with this garage door opener for a while first the range of the remote was a lot less and sometimes it would start to go down and stop for no reason that I could find and would every once in awhile to start with then it started going more frequently until last Saturday when I opened the garage door it refused to close so I cranked up force all the way maximum limit this did not work also the sensor on one side that has a green and red lights that are supposed to be on when the door is open and there are no obstacles in the way on the original board the only light that was the red but the green one was off

I have had another opener that is the same model number that got stuck by a near by thunderstorm that took out the control board but I keep it because the motor still works so I have spare parts for this one if the motor goes bad
