Anyone have a list of good online sites to buy NiMH cells in non standard sizes. I'm looking for some high quality 2/3 AA at the moment...

Re: NiMH Cells
Nickel metal hydride because they have a larger capacity.
Yeah I've googled... Guess I was hoping there was a really good all in one site that people have used... I seem to be finding a lot of junk Chinese cells and I was hoping to find a site with Sanyo and Pansonic or something...Comment

Go to http://www.candlepowerforums.com/
And head over to the forums. There's a battery forum there and you should be able to find purchase feedback of the online retailers.“We the willing, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful.

Re: NiMH Cells
who knows why they died.
i have gotten duds with all brands.
i remember as a kid rinks got in some oddball 9v batts.
the whole shipment was bad.we are talking about 10000 batts.all 0.00 volts.i brought back a bunch and when the store mgr questioned me i brought in my simpson 260.
he went to his trashcan and dug out 6 pocket radios he tossed because he thought they were dead.pocket radios were not cheap then!
batterystation should have n cells along with the nimh you need.
and cheaper than radioshark.Comment

by DannyxGood day folks. Let's talk about batteries because it's a huge topic which I haven't tackled as well as I would like, so let's put it into practice: my colleague worked on a portable handheld vacuum cleaner which had dead NiMh cells in it. It would charge, run for a few seconds then shut off entirely. Wanting to "upgrade" it, he replaced the NiMh cells with Li Ion ones....directly - no other mods or precautions taken. Ok, he's not as stupid as to substitute a Li Ion cell for EVERY NiMh battery in there, because the voltage wouldn't match for one, so he put in 4 Li Ions, so that would...

by ChaksI need help to extend the runtime of the ups board (see attached image).
This is ups board for a CM4 which has 3 18650 cells in parallel. Can I extend the 3 cells to 6 cells for a longer runtime? by soldering a wire to each of the battery terminal and connecting it to a separate battery case with 6 cells.
Thanks and kind regards,

by PonchojackSo here's the challenge...........
I have a Grundig radio that uses SIX D-Cell alkaline batteries. A somewhat pricey affair to replace these things when they run out. I can't blame the radio, it sips power and the batteries last a long time. The unit also has a 9V wall wart adapter.
What I want to do is replace the six D-cells with six AA rechargeables using those plastic battery adapters. I have no doubt it will work fine and the batteries will last a respectable amount of time.
I guess I could take the AA batteries out and put them in a charger when... -
by RukyConSo awhile ago, i picked up a used Ryobi drill from a thrift store, so I could give it to my father (so that he could have something that was slightly better than his Drill Master drill with a broken battery mount), but with that drill came a dead P189 1.5 Ah battery, since my charger refused to charge it, i decided to take it apart, I found that all 5 of the 18650 cells in the battery were discharged to less than 0.5v, so knowing that the cells in it were pretty dead, i ended up setting it aside, unsure of whether i would repair it.
Anyway, about a week ago, i dug up the battery... -
by sam_sam_samI bought a case of them the battery cells are made in China the charge curve looks decent for 1 amp charging rate there is also a BMS protection board which here is the website link to them
https://batteryhookup.com/collection...-lifepo4-cells
Here are more of the same but the difference is that they do not have the BMS protection boards but have the tabbing on them
