    Help identifying shorted diode.

    Hi there all.

Troubleshooting an SMPS and I’ve found a SMD diode shorted in both directions. The trouble is it has no identification on it. So what do I replace it with and how do I tell where the anode and cathode is and how to mount the replacement?

It is diode D1 on the image.

    Regards.

    Gareth.

show the other side of the board and tell me the rating of the fuse,
it looks like a bridge rectifier circuit but i need to know the power.

      It’s a 2Amp fuse mate.

Remove the varnish from it with acetone, carefully scrape it off and the markings will be visible...

TVS diode shorted on HP motherboard
              by Askic
              Hello guys,
I have seen a few videos on youtube about repiring HP 15 pavilion laptops that has TVS (Transient Voltage Suppressor) diode shorted to the ground.
Please have a look at the attached picture.
The diode is P4SMAJ20A and according to the datasheet its breakdown voltage (at 1 mA is 22.2V or 24.6V at10 mA).
THis means that if voltage goes higher that 23V this diode will start conducting and short to ground thus protecting rest of the circuits from overvoltage.

What I don't understand if is this diode reversible, for example if voltage goes below 20...

              Hello all!

could someone help identifying this ST diode?

Need Help Identifying This DIODE mounted on a Frigidaire oven control PN:316131600
              by DennisH
This diode is mounted on a Frigidaire electronic oven control PN:316131600. This diode runs hot enough that the PCB is showing slight burn marks (black soot looking area on PCB above the diode). It looks to me to be coming from the body of the diode.

The oven control is 22 years old and still works, but I can't get a new replacement, so I'm doing preventative maintenance and replacing a few parts on it that I think could fail - and this is one of them.

Can any of you identify this diode (see pic) and suggest a replacement that can handle more heat - or if not, can...

              Panasonic TC-P50S1 shorted TXNSC1EDUU (TNPA4782AB) SC Board
              by Yanleb
Hi every one. I just want to share the successful repair of my shorted Panasonic TNPA4782AB SC board.

I don't usually do it but so many parts were shorted that I decided to buy the ShopJimmy repair kit instead of sourcing each components individually. Here is the list of components the kit contained, with a remark indicating if I needed that part or not :

              D608, good
              D618 RF101L4S, good (See warning 1 below)
              D619 RF101L4S, good (See warning 1 below)
              D865 RF101L4S, shorted (See warning 1 below)

Help Identifying Diode for Macbook Air a1466 with 820-00165 board
              by Cbizz
While reviewing the a1466 820-00165 board schematics, I came across a diode that I need to identify. The part in question is labeled D2920 (NSR1020MW2T1G), but my problem is that the schematic has the icon for a Zener Diode, but when I look up the part number, I only get results for a Schottky Diode. I don't have much experience with technical schematics at all and this part just so happens to be missing from the board I am trying to fix so I need to get my hands on the correct replacement part.

I have attached both the schematic portion in question and a screenshot of the part...
