    eMachine T2865 AU31 Help

    Hello,

Not sure if this is the right forum to post this thread. But I seriously need someone's help. I have an eMachine T2865 with a non-working AU31 motherboard. I got a replacement MB as well as a new PSU (exact same make and model) from ebay, I connected everything as is, however I disconnected the wires below from the old motherboard without making any notation first. And the motherboard manual at (pg. 12) is no help to me. Not exactly sure how I should connect these wires base on the manual unless someone can make this out for me.

power sw = black and white
hdd led = red and white
power led = green and white

Anyhow, if someone can help or have one of this machine and willing to give me instruction in much detail to connect these wires back to the new motherboard, I would really really appreciated.

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give me.

    Suav

These connect to the front-panel header - which should be labelled on the mobo with the positions of each of these connectors. The only issue is the polarity - Power SW doesn't matter, it's the ATX power button; the other two can be connected with the wrong polarity - if it doesn't work, just unplug them individually and switch the polarity.

According to the PDF manual on pg. 12 at the above url as well as on the mobo, these connecters are labled in sequential order, the first being the PWR LED, then HDD LED then the PWR Button RST. Assuming, this is the order, then PWR LED would be connected to number 1, the HDD LED would be connected to number 2 and the PWR Button RST would then be connected to number 3.

Well I've tried this and many other different arrangments and still nothing. No power nothing.. almost as the power supply is not working. But I know it can't be the PSU because it is a brand new PSU. Also the ATX power cable is connected.

Well, any more help is greatly appreciated.

Wire twisting tool for small wires - ideas ?
            by Dannyx
Good day folks. Recently, I started doing more and more alarm system installs which involve dealing with a ton of small wires which are part of 4 to 12 core alarm cable. To make my installs as clean and neat as possible, I twist together the individual wires whenever possible to make braids like in the picture. It takes a lot of time and wears on my fingers really quickly, to the point where I actually developed a blister on my index finger from all the twisting. This got me thinking if there's a tool designed to braid small wires like this. I know there is something for twisting together solid...

correct way to connect bare speaker wires into spring clip terminals?
            by ChaosLegionnaire
i recently bought a logitech z607 surround system. however, its giving me grief. when i first connected it, it only had sound coming from the front right speaker. after a great deal of fiddling and reseating the speaker wires into the spring clip terminals, i finally had sound coming from all 5 satellite speakers.

however, the sound still gets cut off intermittently if i move the speakers, subwoofer or move/touch the speaker wires on the back of the subwoofer. so i wanna ask what is the right way to connect bare speaker wires into spring clip terminals?

            i googled...

            Headphone wires.... confused!
            by budwich
I picked up a "beat up" set of sennheiser headphones (hd201). The phono plug end seemed to have an issue such that most of the time only one ear would work but by compressing / bending the jacket of the phono plug, I could cause the other ear to work. Must be a phono jack (3 pin) problem. So I cut it off and have solder based replacement. BUT... the wiring seems "mysterious" to me. I can't see how this can work or even ever worked. Attached is a picture of the wires (less the phono plug). One sheath has what I believe is two enameled wires while the other has basically...

psu sata power wires thinner - does it make a difference ?
            by playit
hello , i have a psu 450 zebronics (yes its bad crap) which used to work before with its own sata power cable ,but today its not able to power up harddrive efficiently with its own power sata cable , but when there is a connector which have a thick wire than the psu sata power cable wires - its powering up and working smooth , no problem yet .
i the voltages with multimeter shows 12 ,3.3 v , no problem , but hardrives powers well only with this thick wire sata power cable connector from psu power molex .
any explanation on this ?? thank you ,soon i am planning to buy some branded...
