    capacitor balance charging???

The electronic theory says "connecting capacitor in series will give the higher voltage tolerance, but lower capacitance in the same fashion of connecting resistor in the parallel will give higher power tolerance but lower resistance".

However, I've got some idea of "balance charging". Giving 3 capacitors of 1F @4.3V each connected in series with 4 pins like

G|____c1_____|______c2______|______c3_____|+ and charge them like li-po battery. I'm wondered if that will result in 1F capacitor @ 12.6V with no capacitor boomed?

    Re: capacitor balance charging???

First of all, LiPo batteries should not be charged past 4.2V. If you were to connect 3 x Li-Po batteries in series then yes you can charge the 3 capacitor series to 12.6V but you will not have 1F @ 12.6V, it will be 333mF ( 333,33uF ) at 12.6V.

Unless you use a (large) high current battery, you should use something like a resistor in series to limit current from the battery while charging the capacitors.

ASUS X54H laptop thinks it's always charging even with charger unplugged
          by flat-earther
The charging indicator light on my ASUS X54H laptop is always on even when the charger is disconnected.

Windows also shows ''Plugged in'' when charger is not connected.

This problem started year ago gradually, when unplugging the charger the charging light took several seconds to disappear, then minutes, and now almost always on even when unplugged for an entire day.
Strangely, before sometimes immediately when plugging in the charger the charging light went away, and later came back with it connected.
If I let battery run out and say it has 3% Windows will...

desoldered capacitor is self charging until 0.6 voltage.
          by chth96
I have an 21 inch CRT TV which is not able to power on.
I disassembled 21 inch CRT TV and measured voltage of main filter capacitor(Samhwa HC 400WV 220uF) in the circuit.
It shows 270V on my DMM.

So I discharged this main filter capactior completely and detached circuit board from cathode-ray tube.
Then I desoldered this main filter capacitor from circuit board.
But I noticed that this desoldered large capacitor(Samhwa HC 400WV 220uF) is slowly charged by itself until it reached 0.6V

I measured its ESR value with MESR-100 and it shows 0.1 ohm,judging...

          Hello,

i have similar problem as https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=37828

-It works on charger (without battery connected-only charger)
-It works on battery (without charger connected-only battery)
-& it also works when plugged in battery & charger, but it's not charging the battery

//Confirming, i have same issue, but problem started from charger, centre PIN is outputing 10V+ and jumping randomly 19V

          RTX 3080 FE Identifying capacitor
          by Prolog
Hi people, I hope this is the correct spot to post this, I'm new to the forum.

I have an RTX 3080 Founders Edition which has a burnt up capacitor (it was in parallel with another capacitor which appears damaged too), so I am hoping to be able to identify the capacitor values and order replacements.

I hope these photos make it clear which component I am referring to:
(yes, the soldering is a bit botched from removing the blown one, I know)

I have found the board schematic (attached), but there does not seem to be a boardview available. I have never...

If I replace with inferior capacitor, Is it No harm to other IC components at all?
          by chth96
I replaced some capacitor which is located on optical pickup pcb which is shown in the table below(PCB #2).Because it have been out of order.
Now,It works very well,But I just have found that all caps (6svpc100my and other part number as well) ,which is shown in the table below, has ultra-high ripple current spec.
It is not able to obtain any capacitor which can be a substitute for this ultra-high ripple current nichicon capacitor.
So I replaced it with samxon and rubycon's general capacitor(GP,YXA series).
I know that these capacitor will not last as long as nichicon capacitor...
