USB A four outputs two are on one ic selector current control ic chip

Here is the device that I am talking about

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/37427644997...evt=1&mkcid=28

I going to remove the 5 volt switching power supply and use a 5 volt @ 60 amp switching power supply for a battery charger station

The version that I am referring to is the type has four USB ports in an electrical outlet format
There is also a version that has two USB ports and a regular electrical two outlet

But I have a use for the switching power supply that was originally in these

I will show some pictures of the two versions that I have one version to me is made a little bit better than the other version as far as the support for the USB outlets

There is also a difference in the size of the switching transformer one it slightly bigger than the other version

I also have the version that has where you can plug an electrical device into it and the switching power supply but the switching power supply is very small and it says that it is rated 18 watts really I think it more like 5 to maybe 8 watts

I would not even think about using it for more than one battery pack at a time

I also bought a lot of 5 volt @ 55 amp Mean-well switching power supply’s that are intermittent operating that I going to be posting in another post of its own once I get them

Here are some Pictures the first one is the Original USB two USB outlet second one is the completed project the third one is the switching power supply's that I am using the fourth picture is the back of the USB outlet board the fifth picture the USB doctor voltage and current meters the sixth picture is front of the USB outlet board now I have to work on the enclosure but this might be tomorrow or the next day

One note the reason why the voltage is higher on one switching power supply is because there is no load on it and because there is a slight voltage drop when using USB doctor voltage and current meter module

So there are two USB outlets one that has the LED indicator light the bottom two USB outlets are on another switching power supply so that way if I have two tables or a phone that very low on charge I charge two them on one power supply or on two separate switching power supplies

I have not decided on which of two different enclosures that I could use and have not decided which one I want to use for this project yet

When I am finished with mounting the switching power supplies there will only be one electrical cord to the outlet

The reason for this project was because I have right now two power cords and a double USB outlet that has no USB doctor voltage and current meter module and that the power cord to my original USB switching power supply is too short so it was time for major upgrade to my couch iPad entertainment switching power supply charging station

There are times when I use two different iPads one has Duck Duck Go and VPN on it and the other IPad does not have this installed on for when Duck Duck Go does not want to go to a particular website page also this iPads is an older version that I have so if it gets hosed Oh well it is what it is

One final note this is not the battery charging station that I mentioned in the previous post above because I do not have the need to repair switching power yet I still waiting for them to get here and that is a separate project but I going to modify the USB doctor voltage and current module the same way as I did in this particular project stay tuned more to come later

One more details to about the 5 volt @ 5 amp switching power supplies I bought quite a few of them several years ago I bought these surplus from Electronic Goldmine every time they had a sale on them until they ran out of them I also have the 12 volt @ 3.5 amp version as well but I do not have as many of them as I do of 5 volt versions ones and they get recapped before they are put into service

These switching power supplies are very well made and they are medical grade equipment type that was the biggest reason I bought so many of them when they were available for sale

I once ran a torcher test that I was drawing around 5 amps for over an hour and the case only got warm to the touch so I have no issues with running them at 5 amp for a period of time unattended in operation

I have had USB wall warts that I was scared to run at more than one amp because after a short period of time they would get extremely warm to the touch not good in my book to run unattended for any length of time ( in fact I do not use them except for LED night light power supply boards they good for that purpose )

In fact I use one of these 5 volt @ 5 amp switching power supplies for one of my alarm clock yea I know that is over kill but the switching power supply that came with the alarm clock was a joke of a switching power supply because the display is LED type and the original switching power supply would get some what warm when running for hours I oh no I can not have this issue going on

I might have the alarm clock wired into the couch USB outlet entertainment center charging station and power for the alarm clock as well

Well I managed to rough cut the front panel on the enclosure panel and mount the USB outlet module to the face plate but now I have to get JB weld for metal and fix the over cutting the window opening for the voltage and current meters that is next and cut out the the electrical cord outlet and screw it to the metal plate and remove the two on the switching power supply board and wire them in parallel paint the front panel black and it will be completely done maybe next weekend but we will see if I have to work Saturday morning and how late it gets it might not happen next weekend but we will see

Unfortunately I had to work yesterday and when I got home we had one of the worsted thunderstorms that I have seen in a while to the point that we also had a tornado warning ( which is unheard of and unusual for this area to last this long ) for at least an hour or maybe a little more than that it was raining so hard you could not see anything and it was very dark outside at 4:00 pm just before all of this started and today more of is coming for early this morning hopefully not as bad as yesterday

So I do not think that I will have time to do anything until maybe next weekend unless I have work again on Saturday

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
        by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
        by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

        Assuming...

DVR camera recorder switching power supply capacitor failure really
        by sam_sam_sam
These cheap non brand capacitors at it again

Last night we had a power outage [ long drawn out trying three to come back up before going out completely ] and when I went to turn the DVR camera recorder back today no go 3 bad capacitors ( one capacitor no ESR reading on DVR board the other 3 capacitor on the power supply board over 40 ohm this is not a misprint ) on the external switching power supply and one capacitor on the DVR camera recorder board where the power supply that goes to the hard drive disk is

Well at least I have the cameras back on line I to try the...

Panasonic switching power supply daughter board has two 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors which I do not keep in stock
        by sam_sam_sam
I did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow

This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board

        After all of...

DVR recorder Switching power supply Failure
        by sam_sam_sam
When I originally started with my DVR recorder it had 4 individual switching switching power supply’s that were sh*t so I bought a 7 amp 12 volt switching power supply and modified the output plug and put a four output power supply cable to match the input power supply cable inputs

Which worked for over 14 years until a few days ago when the cameras went dark no picture anymore well it turns out now the switching power supply has stopped working altogether now so I have to troubleshoot what has happened to this power supply more later on today what I found

        This...
