    non-SMD alternative to a ESD5Z3.3T1G

    SMD part: https://www.digikey.com/en/products/...3-3T1G/1476607

i can't find anything with a 3.3v V VWM that is through hole (would prefer digikey cause i would like to also get some more/spare/test PICOs and combine shipping)

i would like to attach a variety of current clamps to a raspberry PICO via a ADS1115 to measure 15, 20, 30, and 100 A circuits

i found this schematic showing the part i want to replicate (the jack area on the left)
    https://docs.openenergymonitor.org/_.../schematic.png

since i will be using 2.54mm soldered breadboard i would really rather not deal with SMD stuff especially with a $3 iron using copper wire for tips

ESD TVS diodes are small SMT so you have short wiring, low inductance to deal with the fast spike. It's actually not bad soldering the bigger ones like SOD-123 package like PTVS3V3 or SMF3.3
Through-hole TVS I see nothing clamping at low voltages under 6V.

I hope you realize these ESD diodes clamp at high voltage, always far above their rating (standoff voltage)
    ESD5Z3.3T1G/T5G is 50nA at 3.3V but 1mA at 5.0V (on-semi) Rectron 4.2V 1mA.
AVR128DB max. is 3.6V on pins so what coverage do you get with something that starts to clamp at 5V?

The SCT013 CT's usually have a built-in burden resistor to give 1VAC output at full current like 60A.

That energy meter circuit is not so great, biasing the CT up to 0.511V gives a range to 0.361VRMS which is much less than the CT's rated current for 1V. It is customary to bias to 1/2Vcc or 1.65V so I see a lot of range being lost.

So to answer your question, through-hole zeners could work something that clamps in the 1mA range above 3.3V watch their specs can be at 5,10,20mA which is much higher than you will see here.

if that circuit is not so great what would you suggest? i can start from scratch at this point no problem

Is it a 3-phase or 1-phase energy meter you want to make?
I think it's easier to use a power/energy meter IC designed for that, instead of that guy's approach to writing code for an AVR microcontroller.
Industrial 3-phase energy meter I use Analog Devices parts, but they have so much in them that they are complicated parts.
Microchip has simpler parts and eval boards with code to make it easier but their website is crappy and I could not find the part there.
Then there is the Kill-a-watt 120VAC 15A you can read the data off of, that has been hacked many ways.

Making your own, there is a safety hazard on the voltage measuring channel(s).
If using voltage divider resistors, they have to take transients of many kV and I fuse the inputs to them.
If using voltage (potential) transformers, and they are cheapola out of china, they tend to blow up.

          No 3 phase service here
          120v AC: +120v AC -> ground
          240v AC: +120v AC -> -120v AC

alternative diode to Samsung TV 55 mb
            by baxmax
Hi, Recently my Samsung 4K QE55Q60AAUXXH just suddenly stopped working_ there is no any sign of life - no red light or anything..and think, after diagnostic, it is diode DM863c SF28e PK33 siyu or one of these four. Is there any alternative I can replace with since it is hard to find it in my country and to order outside is quite difficult. thank you...

iPod nano G3 - alternative soldering point for the white battery wire
            by Norrecito
            Hi,

A friend of mine gave me an iPod nano G3 to see if I can fix it for him.

The device had a faulty battery and he tried to replace it but failed. In the process he managed to pull off the pads that corresponds to the white battery wire (marked with a red circle in the images)....from both sides of the PCB. Fortunetely he didn't damage anything else.
This is usually an easy fix HOWEVER, on the PCB, I see no traces coming from the VIA and after searching the internet, I've found no schematics nor boardview for this device. With the pads gone from both sides I seem...

            Hi all,

some days ago my induction hob have decided to die , finally I found which component result damanged, before buy a new one to be honest I prefer to check if exist an alternative component this why isn't very cheap and here i italy isn't commecialized.

the orginal component is: rensans mofest RJH60T4

I checked this one FGH40N60SMD, but I don't know if could be good or not, some one could help me to find a good alternative?

            thanks to all
