by dj8452000I am new to electronics and I'm understanding most of what I'm reading but I have a mosfet on my board that I've identified as a P-channel Trench Mosfet. I haven't a clue how to test this and what I should expect to see with the multimeter probes. I am hoping someone with years more experience than myself can help me understand how to use a multimeter to read this. Please look at the drawing I have attached to this and can you try to explain to me what I should be doing with my multimeter in diode mode and what results I should expect from a good mosfet?...

by tmaster21Hello guys. i'm having problems here with this lenovo 110 with board NM-A841 laptop. There is an P channel(pq302) and after it i start ,i have 19v but with time, it decreases or if i press "power on" switch or jumper j6 , it falls to 0 and back to 19v. There is no short and works good on battery, but won't charge or charge until the voltage drop like i explain after P mosfet.
Well i suspect that this mosfet is no good. if you look to skematic i have steady 19v on P2 but start to decrease on P3 like if the mosfet is dying . the gate of boot N an P mosfet are the same: is steady... -
by eccerr0rAnyone run memory speed tests with an old X58-based triple channel 1st gen or any other >2 channel board? The one I have is a Gigabyte I think.
Anyway I had four 4GB DDR3-1333 modules in the 6 memory slots and got around 11GB/sec memory speeds assuming that it went dual channel since it didn't have enough modules for triple channel. Now I stuck in two more 4GB modules, but they are DDR3-1600. I'm still getting 11GB/sec speeds according to memtest86...
Just wondering, anyone do memory speed analysis on these triple (and higher) channel memory boards? Are there any...-

by c_corrTrying to repair a HP 830 G7 board where I found the Q7001 a low power mosfet blown probably caused by supplying current to a shorted capacitor from the 5V line -> I plan to locate the shorted cap with the usual lab PSU set to 1V and limted to 2-3 amps and a thermal camera.
Blown mosfet is shortcircuited and has a hole in its casing so I cannot read its marking properly hence my problem.
Looking in the only schematic available everywhere on the internet the Q7001 shows as being a PJS6416-AU N-channel mosfet but the schyematoic image shows a P-channel mosfet and also there... -
Hi.
I have a Mosfet in a power adaptor circuit and I want to know what is the Gate, Drain and Source.
I have a data sheet and it shows which is the gate (#1) and I assume 2 and 3 are Drain and Source.
But when I read it with a multimeter I read that it's likely not that.
It seems to show that wire 3 is the gate and the other two are drain and source.
I want to know because I want to design tests on the mosfet to see if it is broken.
However, the gate of U1 (the pulse width modulator) is connected to wire 1 indicating it IS the gate... - Loading...
