For laptop/PC repair what V and A rating should my probes be?

    I just bought a set of Fluke TL-910: https://www.fluke.com/en-us/product/...st-leads/tl910

They say they are rated for 3 amps. Is that enough to work on laptops and PC's? I'm new to this stuff and still learning.

very few people use the current range on a meter - so it's irelevent.
the size of the tips is more critical - you need them thin and sharp so you can probe small parts

Should have gone with something like this

        Fluke TL175 TwistGuard™ Test Leads

        https://www.myflukestore.com/product...test-leads-set

I have used the one that you listed that came with my meter originally but not this version that you can change the the tip pins the ones I have are not changeable

But I have also used the one that I have listed and to me they are just as good as a replacement

I've used those TL910 probes. They're thinner than standard probes and extremely sharp, but the wire resistance is higher than normal. I wouldn't want to measure current with them, but they're good for probing small parts (which you will be doing a lot on motherboards).

No sam_sam_sam the Fluke TL175 are not useful for troubleshooting a laptop mainboard.
They are great for industrial use though.

The Fluke TL-910 are great so long as they don't loose grip of the detachable probes.
They can also be had much cheaper in the Keysight 34133A
Apparently they are the same according to this thread on eevblog:

a lot of people swear by the gold plated leads from Bryman.
not tried them myself - i just buy cheap shit and replace them every year or so when i bend or snap the tips!

I bought these probes about 2 years ago, and I have been very happy with them. They are pretty commonly available on ali in different kits. I'm just a dabbler, but they have been good to me, and replacement tips are cheap and widely available too.
