    When was this Fluke made?

    Hello Everyone,

My uncle gave me an older model Fluke multimeter earlier this year.
The model is a Fluke 8060A. It isn't an autorange one and has a whole array of push buttons on the left hand side to select ranges etc.
Does anyone know when this multimeter was made?? I take a guess at the mid 1990s??

    Thanks.

Fluke are a bit like the Roll Royce in MM if its in working condition its worth having

That model does look pretty old thought .... and would put it as will said or possibly even earlier
        I vaguely remember them.

fluke forum I found they were saying 20 plus years....

from a few second hand equipment suppliers I found, they are still at a pretty penny ....one ebay auction (German I think) 199 Euro "buy now"

that should give you an idea of worth having in your tool box

I should add, its long in the tooth so if faulty or goes faulty
fluke wont fix it as its too old I guess

but be happy they are a damm good meter

I nearly got a good deal on a Fluke (run out sale)
but just couldn't at the time justify the expense I am sorry I didn't now

        Cheers

I always wanted a Fluke DMM and I'm happy I got one now.
I actually had about $100AU saved up for a Fluke earlier this year but I was given this nice Fluke so I can save that cash for something else. ;D

Oh.... mid 80's. I didn't guess that it would be that old. My previous multimeter.... a Micronta one was a 1985 model and that one was huge. It is the same size as my Linksys WAP11 router.
But nonetheless, 20 years for a DMM and it's still working properly is pretty nice.

Oh yeah. I did a check on eBay AU and the buy it now price was like $150USD. Damn these DMMs are so expensive.

          Thanks.

              S,
The 8060 is the one to have.
Still use mine that I got in the late 80's. Very sold bit of equipment.

One little point, don't let anything get in that case! The board is very sensitive to contaminants and the slightest little bit of liquid junk will pull the accuracy way off.

I was thinking mid to late 80's.. I used to use one of those every day at my last job.. Very nice, but of course we have newer Flukes where i work now.. I've got a 175 in my work toolbox right now..

Why not email Fluke and ask them?
                  I did.
They told me my Fluke 8020A was made in June 1980.

Still in perfect working order and spot-on compared to my 79

This is around early 1980's because I had electronics stuff magzines and these featured these fluke meter of that style. flukes went auto ranging by late 1980's with few models hanging on as manual-ranges then all gone afterwards to all automatics.

Take care of yours WELL. Don't abuse it etc.

IIRC, the 8060a was 'current' from the mid 80s until the late 90s.
It's a very, very good meter.

I saw an ad in a 1986 magazine that advertised the "New" 75 77 and 79 models.
                        I think I got mine in 87.

Fluke 123 no image on the screen
                          by Khoja
                          Hello experts,

I recently purchased a used Fluke 123 Industrial Scopemeter from an online Japanese auction site (jauce.com). It has now been delivered. Unfortunately, I overlooked the fact that the seller neither guarantees its working condition nor accepts returns.

When I power it on, the backlight comes on, but there is no image on the screen. After opening the device, I noticed clear signs of previous soldering in several areas (photos attached). It seems someone attempted repairs before.

At this point, I'll have to try and fix it myself. Has anyone here...

repairing a Fluke 335 clamp meter
                          by Baldbentley
I am repairing a Fluke 335 clamp meter. After contacting fluke it appears there is no service manual or circuit board/ component list available. I have determined that there us a faulty PNP bipolar junction transistors shown in the pictures. I am having trouble sourcing this transistor. I pulled a good one off of the board and tested it with my component analyzer but I cannot find anything that matches the specifications. Any help locating this part or a replacement would be greatly appreciated.

                          Thanks...

Buy a Agilent U1242A or Fluke 179 DMM?
                          by Crystaleyes
Need a new (used) DMM and there are two in the area for resonable prices.

The Agilent U1242A is 63 GBP (about 80 USD)
                          https://cdn.badcaps-static.com/pdfs/...4dc89c13fc.pdf

The Fluke 179 is 55 GBP (roughly $68.00)
                          https://www.fluke.com/en-us/product/...fluke-179-eda2

                          Kinda leaning towards the Agilent.

Anyone think that is a bad idea?

                          Tv taping method made easy
                          by handsworth
Just wanted to share some information that I ran across when attempting to do the tape method on a tv with a shorted panel. I normally use magnifying glasses however while watching a you tube video, the person was using their phone. It seems that the Iphone has a magnifier app and wow, it works great. I have Iphone 11 and the app is built in. Pictures attached are screen shots. Made taping the pins a breeze. Also useful when reading the tiny print on the boards. Hope this helps somebody. ...

LG OLED C1 Pixel Cleaning Made Picture Worse
                          by rumi409
                           Hi,

I'm trying to resurrect a LG OLED C1 TV that has some panel banding. I used the TCON error bypass to get a picture. I was able to update the firmware as well. But when I performed a pixel cleaning to try to get the banding out, it made the image significantly worse. I tried to undo the effects of the pixel cleaning by performing a factory reset and IN_Stop, but that didn't work. Any way to reset pixel cleaning data?...
